So why did Ur-Didact focused on Prometheans?

Sorry it has been a long time since I read Silentium. I believe he was driven mad by Gravemind, correct? I mean he knew about Star roads. Was he seriously thinking Prometheans were solution to Star roads?

Star Roads and Precursor structures were only active in the presence of the Flood. Perhaps he thought he could deactivate the Star Roads by killing the Flood around them?

Prometheans are immune to Flood infection because they are essentially super-sophisticated AI’s inside a Forerunner combat armor. It is possible that the Forerunners could have defeated the Flood if the Didact had more Prometheans at his disposal. Of course, that would have meant the extinction of the Human race as a whole so maybe we should be thankful that didn’t happen lol.

The Ur-Didact was driven mad by the Gravemind, so he may not have even considered the star roads. Or of course, as Onyx pointed out, the star roads are only active in the presence of the Flood, and he could have figured that they would deactivated when the Flood was eliminated.

Reason for using sentient lives for Prometheans is that organic brains have more potential than simple machine, right? I think that is the reason behind them iirc. Also, are they immune to logic plague?

I think the main reason was the immunity to the logic plague. Being digitalised organic life in a machine body gives the flood nothing to infect. Pretty effective flood killing machines.
