Promoting free dlc, or getting players to come back to halo ultimately may not be profitable. It might be more expensive, as they may need more servers to power the game. The COD dlc costs money, and thus makes a profit.

Activision has to do that once every few months. MS would have to do that every month almost non-stop. That’s a lot of money when it’s not gonna attract a whole lot of people.

Also I way disagree with him about the COD stuff. I never see or even know any thing about COD. I couldn’t tell you anything about their dlc or updates because I don’t play or follow any thing about that game. I get all the Halo information.

I don’t follow CoD news either, but I knew they have a new map pack out because there are commercials on TV for it. If I didn’t choose keep up to date on Halo DLC, I wouldn’t know about any of it because it’s not advertised for the very casual players.

Good for you… Not everyone checks up on the Halo channel(been there twice) or waypoint. You see COD ads on just about every damn youtube video announcing their DLC. I didn’t see my first commercial for Halo 5 until about 6 days until launch. I have yet to see a trailer for Halo DLC on any site, other than an article when it was first released. No advertising at all.

I see the Halo stuff by following them on Facebook and Twitter. I go to the news section of waypoint. I don’t see anything COD on YouTube. But I rarely go to YouTube when I do it’s only for Halo videos mainly.

I know it’s out there, but it’s for those who are really invested into everything about halo 5. Not everyone in the community knows about the updates. It’s obvious to us, because we’re right at the table, hungry for more, but no one rings the dinner bell for those outside. That was a wierd analogy
