Is it an ONI trap? Is FERO arranging the meeting? Or is Chief wanting to speak to Ben?
They said that the anomalies were coming from a glassed planet? I wonder who’s there. It can’t be Mshak, since Ben said he never heard from him again. It could be FERO who said Ben is now under their protection. Maybe they are hiding out on that glassed world.
I don’t think it’s a person. Petra said it was an anomaly, one of these things we’ve heard so much about, but know so very little. Whatever it is, it’s big.

It’s someone who earned Petra’s trust.

Chief is that much of a bad -Yoink-, he would be considered an anomaly.
There are too many possibilities to make a solid guess so I’ll go off the deep end and say it’s…
The Didact or
The Gravemind or
Cortana or
Halsey or
343 Guilty Spark or
Locke or
Sergeant Johnson or
The Arbiter or

Cant be the Didact because there would be no motive for him to interest himself with the human politics when he just wants theri demise.
The Gravemind is not likely but still possible, but again how would they fit that in an audio diary.
Cortana and Chief are out on the "Find yourself mission, with a couple of stops to save the universe every once and awhile.
Halsey is a high possibility seeing that she is a master of anything technical, good enough to be known as an anomaly and she could easily be FERO.
343 Guilty Spark is also high on the list because he is kind of Forerunner enough to be called a large and important space anomaly
Locke is on a mission that has little to do with politics. It’s an inside job with the UNSC to bring chief back or to eliminate him. It’s not for the poilitics nor the people
Johnson? Really?
Arbiter is busy following Locke around so he doesn’t do anything stupid… but I don’t know, that’s a a very neutral maybe.
It’s gotta be either FERO or halsey, or both perhaps.
Chief and Blue Team?
I was thinking it’s Laskey.
My bet is on Mendicant Bias.
Mendicant Bias? Could be Librarian seeing how as Chakas thinks she’s still alive.

Oh yeah, Petra is friends with Mendicant Bias? Gimme a break.
I’m hopeful that this anomaly is some sort of Forerunner device buried on the planet. Even more hopeful that it will be one of these “Guardians” that everybody has been speculating about. It would be investing to see Hunt the Truth kick off Halo 5’s story.

Last time we were promised something big and started imagining Flood/Precursors/ancient Forerunner constructs/etc, we got Lekgolo swarms and little men in rubber masks pretending to be a new species. Yeah.
I’m trying to keep my expectations more reasonable, it’ll probably turn out to be some person or persons, either ONI or NCA affiliated.
Sully perhaps
The planet shown in the Halo On xbox one trailer has sand which looks kinda blue. Like Glass. Just saiyin
I bet its Mshak.
It said specifically in the episode that these coordinates were a location of where one of the anomalies is. There are people are supposed to take him there, that’s it. Why would Halsey, FERO, a Gravemind or anything that isn’t forerunner be considered one of the anomalies? It is an anomaly, there is a 72 hour window for Ben to get in and out. That’s it, no human or biological being would be considered one the anomalies. Remember these anomalies are slipspace anomalies.
