NOTE: This is not a thread made to talk badly about Halo 4 or any of the previous games.
This is a simple thread to see who/how many people who still come onto these forums have stopped playing Halo and do not plan on purchasing/playing any future Halos for any kinds of reasons that follows
-Veterans of the game who dislike that Halo has lost it’s identity
-Dislike that new features are very different from original Halo’s
-Dislike that the game is more focused on Big Team
-Simply have grown out of a Halo stage
-Disappointed in the fact that many things promised simply were not delivered
-There seems to be only 2-3 maps that are played in the map rotation of any gametype
-There seems to be only 3 maps made suitable for 4v4 gameplay
-Many additions to the game were added simply to copy the Call of Duty series
-Instant Respawn
-Removal of many custom game options
-Removal of many custom game
-Removal of “X” over a teammates body after dying
-Lack of precision Forge controls
-Lack of party indicators in matchmaking
-Lack of 1-50 skill system at games RELEASE*
-Weapons de-spawning too quickly
-Games starting with unfair teams
-Join in progress being unnecessary for Halo
-Tactical and Support Packages Earned Through Specializations Are Not Options In Custom Games
-Cannot Change Max Player Count of Lobby Once a Player Joins
-Setting Respawn Time in Slayer, Infinity Slayer, KotH and Oddball Gametypes Does Not Negate Instant Respawn
-Inability To Set Ammo Amount on Initial or Random Ordnance
-Ordnance UI Displaying Incorrect Weapon
-Sloppy UI
-DMR having distinct advantage over other starting rifles
-Active Camo
-Lack of objectives in BTB
-Lack of playlists (Multiteam, Doubles,Snipers)
-Weekly Bulletin never talking about important fixes in game
-343 Devs never commenting or making it aware that they know the complaints of the game and that they are working on fixing them.
-Flinching
These are just a few off the top of my head that I can think of, but I ask this question to all gamers, casual or competitive Halo players, have you given up on Halo?
This game has only been out for a few weeks. Chill out and go play another game while they deal with it if it’s such an annoyance to play. 343’s working on it.
This forum is full of drama queens.
Seeing what maps they are going to bring out kinda opened my eyes. They are really catering to ‘casuals’ who like to play BTB. Small team Halo is dead to quote someone else.
I don’t think this game will get any better, they might fix some stuff, but then I’m still stuck with all those huge maps. And I don’t feel like playing custom all the time in stupid forge maps.
I think it’s time for me to move on, sell Halo 4 and just remember the time when Halo was still great, at least great for me.
Im going to hang in there until the “UPDATE”. If it doesn’t address enough issues, Ill leave and go back to Reach or Halo 3 for my Halo fix while waiting to see what Bungie has up its sleeve next in Destiny. There will be a lot of great options by the time Halo 5 rolls around…Dust 514, Defiance, hopefully Blizzards Titan and of course Destiny.

Most people already understand this game has already been out for a few weeks. Even those who complain about the game. What everyone should already come to realize, is that the chances that Halo will retain any of it’s previous identity multiplayer wise is probably going to be extremely unlikely. And if it is going to occur it, will happen within 6 months to a year. Why? Because the gameplay was already pre-packaged, and the modes pre-destined. 343 Has implemented some old gametypes, but bringing back original slayer, and more will require actual resources and personel to begin working on something, that obviously wasn’t priority.
I’m not going to argue that this game isn’t worth 60$ as it offers hours of entertainment. The question here for me, and also my friends who used to love this series, is “Is it worth investing 60$ in Halo, when I can just feed Activision money for COD?”. My issue is, even if COD is reknown for being nothing more than a 60$ Map Pack. The juggernaught still continues to make new 5 hour campaigns, and add Coop Modes, and improve on their own multiplayer, which was obviously borrowed from for Halo 4. I have played both games over the years myself, and I will say from multiple hours of experience in both games, that 4 was greatly over hyped. A good game, but not one to be worshipping on any level. I could ignore the balance issues and whatnot, but at this point the maps included in Halo are becoming extremely constricting each release. Between Reach and 4, both packaged very limited offerings. But even then, I will take off my hat to reach. Invasion, and the maps in reach all felt more solid and well rounded pacing wise. There is something about ALL of the maps in 4, that just feels a tad overlooked. None of the maps feel like they fit the pacing that Halo was brought about on. The graphics engine is amazing, but the architectural designers really didn’t create a map environment, where I feel like there was any actual thought brought into it.
I am going to borrow the next Halo, if it comes out from a friend first. Trying it this way. I actually feel after this release, I can no longer put my faith into the series that I had grown to love.

This. I really liked that kind of game play and maps like Warlock, Guardien, Beaver Creek, Lockout, Sanctuary, Pit… I have yet to feel that while playing H4. I bought a used copy, and after seeing the new maps I am going to sell it. Hopefully I will find another game that fell like old school small team Halo. You other guys have fun playing H4
So who is done with Halo yet still comes on these forums you ask??? Probably people that don’t have a whole lot of common sense. Usually when I don’t like something I’m not going to support it in any way. What’s the point of visiting forums for a game that you’re “done with”? It makes little sense to me.

But thats been the mindset for every Halo game since Halo 3. We “hung in there” but never got a patch for Halo 3 and when we finally got one in reach it was already too late, the population was gone.

Oh I don’t know maybe because they wanna see if the game they once loved is on its way to getting fixed?

Oh, because a minute ago I thought this thread was about people that were DONE with Halo. Not people that were optimistically awaiting for TU info.

i’ve had a REALLY great time watching all the meltz.
it’s funny that you thought because you were good at halo in 2004, they should make every halo from then on the EXACT same so that you can still be “good”.
games change. if you can’t change and adapt with them, you’re not really as great as you thought you were.
I have definitely not given up on Halo. Despite some flaws in Halo 4, I still absolutely adore the game’s multiplayer and play it quite often. The campaign and its story are amazing, and I’m sure that Halo 5 and 6 will be the same. While Spartan Ops doesn’t quite live up to its potential with the insane amount of repeated levels, I still quite enjoy it and appreciate having a free co-op campaign.

Oh don’t get me wrong the same people who were Yoinking! on people back in 2004 are still Yoinking! on the new generation in Halo 4 today, it’s just we want to be able to do it on a better game.
I’m not saying that I personally am done with Halo, I’m just saying that the future of the series doesn’t look so good.

You can be done with Halo yet still come back if the problems are fixed and the game play is good again.
