They first appeared in Halo 4’s art book, then popped up with a massive role in Escalation. Later, Fred’s armor appears in the Beta trailer… And now Fred and Linda showed up in the climactic MCC terminal, complete with some great voice acting. So it’s pretty much confirmed isn’t it? Blue Team will appear in some way, shape or form in Halo 5. Probably as John’s co-op buddies, judging by Escalation.
They first appeared in The Fall of Reach book. They have been in a ton more media since as well, and it looks like 343i is acknowledging their existence, which is wonderful. It is no where near confirmed that they will be appearing in Guardians, however it looks like it is a very good possibility.
I would love to play as them in co-op, it would be the first time since Halo 3 I would not wanna be the host.
The frequency of Halo media to which Blue team are appearing in seems to be slowly accelerating, possibly hinting to their big game intro in H5G. By end of Escalation #10, they are confirmed to be with the Chief as they went on their own missions. I cannot quite possibly see how 343i would cop out on the Halo fiction to not bring them in. It’s like Halo 2, where Bungie twisted the fiction to ensure Blue Team won’t be in Halo 2, despite their roles in First Strike.
But another thing to note was that, since the start of the Halo 4 hype, many fans were demanding the return of the Arbiter, to which 343i complied. So I am not surprised if 343i also brought fan-favourite Blue Team to H5G as well.
Well it’s good to finally see them in a game, even if it was just one terminal. We’ve read a lot about them in the books and the comics, but this is the first time they’ve actually been shown in the games. Hopefully this means we’ll see them a lot more in Halo 5 and on.

Yeah, I just realized I -Yoinked!- up the OP. I read FoR, First Strike, GoO and Glasslands. I was specifically talking about evidence that implies they’ll be in Halo 5.

It was so good that I could forgive their non-standard Mark VI armors (I’m guessing that they didn’t want to confuse players and just used the Halo 5 models)

343 actually gave a canon explanation for why Fred and Linda were wearing that type of armor. They said it was because they were testing prototypes for Gen 2.
Not to mention that they have voice actors hired for Fred and Linda as seen in H2A’s prologue terminals. And I would also reckon that they have one for Kelly as well.
Either way, there’s no evidence to suggest that they won’t be in H5G, but there’s PLENTY of evidence to suggest that they WILL be in H5G.
By the way, did you guys notice Locke’s Spartan friends in the Target Locke cutscene? I’m guessing they’re his Blue Team alternative. They’ll probably have names and everything.

I’m thrilled, though it’s too bad Travis Willingham doesn’t really distinguish Fred’s voice from DeMarco’s. At least he sounds pretty similar to Andrew Love, Fred’s VA from Legends.

It’s fine because DeMarco’s dead (lol?), so there won’t be a Skyrim-like thing where two characters have the exact same voice in the same game.

Came into the thread about to mention this- just compare the Spartans to the Elites, while the Elites all look the same Locke’s Spartans have their own armour and colours, to me a co-op campaign seems pretty much confirmed at this point with Blue Team being the obvious choice for John’s companions.
I would hesitate to say their confirmed… But the evidence is certainly pointing in that direction. One of my dreams is to see Blue team in a halo game. Hopefully it will happen.
