not much has changed… except lots of people have come to recognize that although slow time-to-kill can break sprint, sprint does not necessarily break Halo.
Many games manage to implement sprint without it becoming a negative disruptive feature of the game.
> Anti Sprint = No Strafing, Too easy to evade death, A crutch for bad player
> For Sprint = Every Shooter Has It, Nothing else
Sprint can very well have fast strafing speed and fast base speed.
A fellow Waypointer Made a custom game using MLG custom game, adding increase weapons damage IE reduced kill time and plays perfectly fine. and seems to add alot to the game especially BTB and larger maps, and because of the fast kill times there is so issue with any of the arguments posed by anti sprint users, which just prove that though reach’s standard sprint is broke there is a possibility to fix the mechanic in halo 4 without breaking the game
I did hear a new reason a while back: Gives infantry a fighting chance against vehicles. Their argument was that the sudden change in speed makes it harder for a warthog’s turret to track you. So that’s a grand total of 2 reasons (assuming “every other shooter has it” is a reason. But tbh it just seems like sprint giving you a fighting chance against vehicles is more of people getting out of bad decisions. The only time you’d need to sprint away from a vehicle is if you were running around in the open on the middle of standoff or blood gulch like a herp a derp, or the map was badly designed.
I’m pretty indifferent. It’s cool, I like it, it’s become a habit for me to try and sprint every time I play a different Halo game, but I wouldn’t mind if it was gone. However, if the default movement speed stayed the same as it is in Reach, I would be a little aggravated, but I wouldn’t consider it gamebreaking!

Funny, the definition for hyperbole is “Exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally” yet you used the word literally in your hyperbole. So I’m not supposed to take the word “literally” literally.

They’ve argued things along those lines. “It feels weird we can’t sprint in Halo” etc.

> Yeah thats goldpro, and it doesnt have sprint…
No im talking specifically about a game type that does have sprint someone created it as an experiment and was found to prove that with the correct tweaking a play list could in fact have sprint and not break gameplay

No… No. They dont. No one ever says that -_-
Where are you pulling this BS out of?
The Sprint idiots are still out there, they have realized no one gives a royal **** about their complaints and have quieted down, but they still exist. And the way it is now form my understanding-
For Sprint- Don’t care about it, if they don’t like it, they don’t use it.
Against Sprint- Hate it for one reason or another, I don’t understand, if someone runs away…go chase them! Its not like it lasts forever.
