Yes, I agree, this is the exact point and the point of my OP.
I wish they could go back and redesign the BP and everything that’s been in the store so far to be attractive to people but not impact others.
Seriously if they made colours, armours and other personalisation free and charge for things that people are happy to have as their own experience and really want but not affecting others (voice packs etc), I think everyone would be happy and they’d make a fortune.
Believe it or not, I want them to make money, I want it to be the best Halo, that’s why I write such long posts with evidence and ideas. I just want them to make money the right way, like we all do.
We’ve given plenty of ways they can monetize Infinite in a less invasive way.
It’s up to them to see if they enjoy short term gains or long term gains + the loyalty and faith of the fanbase.
No, people were upset with you for saying “Halo use to be a man’s game” and you continued by implying these cosmetics were overly feminine. It was only after you realized how deep your foot was in your own mouth that you started to say how they were too “Fortnite.”
Regardless, the silly and flashy stuff is what will sell the best, so this isn’t going to stop. Ever. This was obvious from the moment they announced ftp and coatings. Admittedly, the over-the-top stuff came much quicker than I expected.
You know, having a toggle for default or ‘normal’ armors only wouldn’t be such a bad thing. A little disingenuous to the people’s money, but certainly wouldn’t hurt for immersion.
Lets just say it takes the assets on the other players and switches them out for random ones from a set pool, like the ones on the bots. I’m no developer and consequently cannot tell you how hard that would be to implement, but when did options hurt anybody?
Before in the previous Halos you can mix and match colors of your choice, now we’re stuck to preset colors that most have disgusting color combinations.

I know a lot of you enjoy the game, but by contributing to the player count, you are helping them sell to whales. Withholding your money won’y make a difference, withholding your time is everything.
Yeah I’m done with infinite I’ve uninstalled it and don’t bother on returning even if they fix it 2 - 4 years later. I’m sticking to MCC. They’re pulling another Halo 5 with infinite.
Anytime I see that pink trail I just think ‘wow, instead of reaching 100 in the battle pass for the flame trail you just spent $20 for that. For this thing I’m looking at right no- ope, you’re dead.’
No, never even going to try and make Onyx. I’m Silver 4, probably never get much higher LOL Being a Grandmother my eyesight is nowhere near what it used to be and the fingers definitely don’t bend as easily as they used too !!
We also have the problem of poor internet. I have been in a couple of the other threads commenting about DESYNC. I didn’t know what it was at first, but now that it’s been explained to me, it perfectly fits the problems we are experiencing. My Hubby was swearing at it for a few days. My daughter ( 23 ) got sick of it and said, “Let me have a go, you’re just old”, well that backfired, because she experienced the same problems. Shots not registering, melee attacks not working, what appears on our screen anyway, that gravity hammers have a 30 metre kill radius. Obviously they don’t, the other player is much closer than what we actually see on our screen. Hubby could not get a game of anything but Bot Bootcamp this morning. Every other game on the playlist timed out, except for BTB which doesn’t do anything. Even if I was 40 years younger, with these problems, Onyx may as well be the dark side of the moon - LOL …
A toggle is an absolute must. I stopped playing before the cyber event and now I don’t want to return because I know those goofy cosmetics will flood the game and be un-switchable. Players who feel that a toggle ruins their expression are just being self-centered.
See, I’ve just voted for the toggle but I’d much rather them make their money from things that don’t need toggling at all.
Like my original post, voice packs or even lettuce oddballs and warthog radios people have suggested are far better, less intrusive and wouldn’t need toggling (iceberg lettuces set to own screen only).
Toggle is definitely next best option but they will lose sales because of the showoff factor so they just won’t and people who have already paid will be on here kicking off within an hour of the toggle (I don’t agree they should, but they will).
