So, when is this going to end?

I must be becoming a better person Netty :joy:.

Are you onyx yet?

Or make the lines thicker or have their GT bright red at all times or something. Destiny, while having worst PVP I’ve ever played, does the outline system better.

I just find it really hard to believe that these effects are that much of a problem. The most in your face example is the kill effect with the skull. Slightly annoying, but if you’re dead it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t impact gameplay. Enemies glow bright red when I’m shooting them, so I don’t even notice armor effects unless they kill me and they’re running around afterwards. I barely even register the mythic effects until someone uses cherry blossom repulsor or flaming grapple hook.

To answer this concern:

This will be on a case by case basis. If they implement an effect that confers a clear advantage during gameplay, then they can obviously tune that effect after receiving feedback.

I’d honestly pay money for a “Fracture Toggle” in that serious stuff is kept while armor effects and non-canon stuff are rendered default.

I would’ve stopped playing MCC Halo 3 entirely if they didn’t have a toggle for the medieval and Halo: Online stuff.

Why do you just go comment on people’s posts saying you don’t believe them? How is that helping anything?

If that’s your takeaway from my comment then put on your big boy glasses and read it again.

You used to be able to tell what you died from by the way you died.

Now the game is so concerned on an orange skull being flamed in my face, cherry blossom shooting out of me and/or me being set on fire when I’ve been shot by a pistol that there is no feedback at all and the point is this is extremely early days - 520 weeks in this game is gonna be like were made out of popping candy and our eyes are literally gonna be out on stalks after being shot.

Stop this nonsense, give the kills feedback, how can you possibly want to be seen as being on fire when you have been shot by a bullet when instead we could have things like the skewer pinning us to the nearest wall.

This is something that makes sense, a skewer pinning you to a wall, not being shot by purple petals!

The “You’ve been killed by” pop up can use more information, but you can always glance at the left side of your screen to see which player killed you and with what weapon. And if you’re getting killed with a random kinetic weapon, a flaming skull isn’t going to be the deciding factor on whether or not you know which one killed you.

Regardless, you’re dead. If that information is valuable, you can always just… look left and see what killed you specifically.

This is why I said case by case basis. There’s not gonna be 100 different effects all playing at once when you get killed. There will be a single kill effect that plays, and if it’s a problem then it lies with one effect, not a hundred different effects.

This “either or” isn’t actually real. You can have both. Example: Getting killed by a Heatwave still disintegrates your corpse. If they want skewers to pin players to walls (I figure they don’t since they deliberately went for a T rating), nothing about kill effects would change that (you can’t even equip kill effects on the skewer, right?)

The entire multiplayer scenario doesn’t really make sense if you think about it for more than 5 seconds. Why does my Spartan die and respawn? Why are we murdering each other for a skull burning with purple-blue fire? If the answer is that this is some kind of virtual training ground, then there can be purple petals in said environment.

Ok I can see you’re one for taking things literally.

I know how I died, I think after playing for 20 years I know how a kill feed works.

I’m saying things should be true, things should look like they are supposed to. If I’m shot by a bullet from the side kick, that should not set me on fire. It does not make sense.

As for the rest of your post, I can’t tell if you’re trying to troll, trying to be funny or actually serious but I’m just gonna block your because I can tell you’re quickly going to turn into one of these people who just gets me banned again :joy:

So then your core argument is about immersion, not about VFX being confusing or distracting. Which is fair. But the entire multiplayer premise requires a certain level of willing suspension of disbelief because nothing about multiplayer makes any sense whatsoever. I don’t find flaming skulls to destroy that suspension of disbelief.

I would love for literally anyone to look at my post and show me where I was trying to troll.

I thought my entire post was pretty fair and straightforward. I made salient points to everything you said, I didn’t resort to any kind of mudslinging or namecalling, and I even extended an olive branch by saying that there could very well be problematic effects in the future. But if my post got you tilted enough to block me, maybe you got banned for a legit reason?

Bro 343 is truly only a out the money, they already got caught lyrics Ng about cross core being difficult to implement.
1 the bots have it.
2. The modding community did easily. And said it was in the code already. Just flip the switch

The reason they say it takes months is because they have to discuss with the business team on how else they are going to charge players for items.

Because once they establish cross core, meaning coatings will be universal I’m assuming.

343 will lose the ability to charge us three seperate times for the same color.

There OG plan was to try and dine and nickel us for each and everything you put on your Spartan down to the color red. For each core seperately.

Every decision ties back to we need to make as much possible money as we can in the shortest amount of time with minimal effort needed

His whole issue could be solved with. Toggle affects off option…

Sure. That would totally work. If it’s a client side only setting so that it doesn’t affect me in any way when my effects should go off (so on my screen I’m still applying my kill effect, but from the victim’s client they don’t see it and their own kill effects are turned off as well) then I think that would probably work out just fine.

But they won’t because…

Was playing with my GF yesterday. Swung my chair around at the beginning of my match. Wouldn’t ya know my armor showed up differently on her screen and Vice versa?! It does this with victory poses too. So now not only are we being charged, the way your cosmetics are displayed are ALSO rigged. Wtf?!?!

Really? Well I’m sorry (not sorry) to all the people that caved and paid.

The whole game is rigged to try and funnel money as quickly as possible on the least amount of effort.

I mean why else would they lock a default red color to each coating.

See the system works like this, 343 understood when they made the Armor cores they could easily make the color Coatings Universal. They are have them for each armor…

But the business side of 343 looked at it and told Corporate hey we could lock the coatings to each core… Than charge players again and again for the same color.

Now if you want to do the math, here’s is what’s the kicker. We already know that on Halo 5 we had 60 default colors. Of those 60 Halo infinite gave us 10.

Now 343 is going to charge you for the other 50, per Armor core… That means just with these 3 armor cores, that’s 150 different times they can charge you for a color l. And that’s just the 50 default colors from Halo 5…

And granted the Yoroi had almost no free colors and they are trying to charge you for the default blue that they gave the other two cores free.

Hate people like you. Legit. You bring nothing to the table.

Guess what? Bought the BP with MICROSOFT REWARDS and ONLY the BP on day one.

Hate away.

Just saying I’m sorry to people who paid and get treated that way by 343.

But at the same time, I’m not sorry because people should know what 343 are like by now especially with a free game.

I use rewards too but spend them on vouchers instead.

I know how I came across - sorry for that.

And the “really” was a genuine shock - I’m genuinely surprised because keeping payers happy, I thought, would be top of 343s priorities

Fair enough. No worries! I agree man. It was knee jerk reaction to buy the pass on day one. Thankfully it was with microsoft rewards but man I would be a little upset if I bought the BP and shop stuff just to find out I can’t mix and match or even equip kill effects to the HCS armor. Wild. The battlepass was already a let down and it only had a few things worth it. A few helmets, super intendant and the level 100 effect were the only things really worth it.
