A better radar typically encourages more engagement as well, which is a good thing.
The sweats with hyper sensitive headsets might disagree but that is what ranked should be for. Let’s try to get social and BTB less sweaty, at least.

What awareness is that? The crap audio design? The guys that shoot me through walls due to crap networking? Gotcha
I’m not a pro player and other players don’t need to be either. People are just too used to being coddled and spoon fed the location of other players . If you get flanked that’s your fault, not the radars.
I am not concerned about radar range, but rather it’s lack of sensitivity and response time. I often get surprised by someone running around a corner with the sword and they never appear on my radar. We literally bump into each other and natch I die because sword.
I would suggest looking around with your eyes or listening to your teammates, but that’s just me.
dumb comment considering it was much higher in other games
It really dumbed down the game and allowed people to play recklessly and stupid in those games too. From which everyone can still go play those games if they want the larger motion tracker. But this is infinite, and they wanted it reduced ( but not removed, that’s for competitive ) so people had to be more self reliant and observant, as well as not allow wreckless and stupid play styles to be rewarded when they should in turn be punished.
I’m right here with you on this one. I find that the radar currently hinders my play ability because I look when they’re too far. Almost like the process of the game is different.
But here’s the problem; We are bipedal primate with binocular vision playing a game on a two-dimensional video screen with no real three-dimensional environmental feedback, e.g. feeling the subtle ground movement through your feet as someone comes up behind you.
Na. If there is ganna be a radar it needs to be a proper radar.
I don’t like radar. I would build the game without one but if they are ganna put it in then it needs to change
Outside of technical problems, the useless radar in Arena/BTB and garbage audio in Ranked (and the whole game in general) is why I don’t have any fun in this game. See, I can play Ranked just fine without the radar, however garbage audio makes my experience frustrating with no footstep sounds and barely any gun sounds. Someone can be behind me with a RL and I don’t even hear them.
This game just has a terrible design philosophy behind it.
Bring back the active camo armor ability and then I’ll be on board for changing it.
I really think it’s the least of their worries.
Oh great skilled one, how do such peasantry like ourselves play this game without reliance on a mechanic that’s been in every game since 2001 which helps us focus on what’s infront of us and near us? Please enlighten a 3+ k/d scrub like me to get better at this game franchise I’ve played for most of my life.
Start by opening your eyes and ears so that you can both see and hear the enemy. If you really want to push yourself, ignore the motion tracker completely and focus on improving you area awareness. Quickly learn to scan rooms when entering them, occasionally keep tabs behind you in case someone tries to sneak up on you, ect.
Could also play fast paced games were awareness is heavily required to do well. Quake remastered, Team Fortress 2 are cheap/free picks, but arena shooters in general can help with awareness.
Customs are another option as well.
Request denied due to your lowly peasant status.
