So what's up with those other Kig-Yar in Halo CE?

So in Halo CE, there was the typical Ruuhtian Kig-Yar which are the ones that go on to be the predominant Jackal in the games until the reclaimer saga started, then there’s the other ones with the baleen looking teeth and the helmets, that only show up in Halo CE and Halo Uprising.
Are they really early(graphic terms) Ibie’shans or something else?

Well if Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is the new standard, then those jackals were removed. If they do still exist then I suppose they could either be a fourth Kig-Yar variant, or they really are Ibie’shan. I would be ok with either explanation.

Based on the Canon Fodder article that noone checks those Kig-Yar don’t exist, much like the Halo CE Sangheili appearance has been retconed.

I’ve always thought of that T’vaoan and Ibie’shan as being from separate subspecies from the Ruuhtians Kig-Yar, with the darker-skinned ones merely being a an ethnic group of the Ruuhtians. It’s not exactly confirmed but I still think it’s plausible. I’d like it if the Halo: CE Jackals showed up again, as I’d hate to think their design has been completely retconned out of the lore.

Jackals are not clones like they seem to be in gameplay. They may not be other subspecies but they may just have different skincolor.

If they are a canon, separate subspecies (which I hope they are) they’d most likely be Ah’lometians. However, they could simply be T’vaoans, due to their visiaul similarities with that subspecies.

I could get that they’d been retconned out, but that only removes one source of them existing, they’re still seen, in addition to the standard Ruuhtianm in the Halo Uprising comic that takes place between Halo 2 and 3.

I could get it if it just turned out to be diversity in Ruuhtians.

Well…

If you watch the Swords of Sanghelios mission game play the jackals now speak English and scream, it’s disturbing.
