Topic and do we really get a REQ pack for each seasons because that’s lame. I hope they part ways with seasons because it’s stupid.
Seasons give players the opportunity to start from scratch, without being stuck in their particular division. I’d prefer the seasons to be longer, though.
It gives people a reason to come back and play. I really like the idea and hope they keep it moving forward.
Its to clean out the ranks and prevent stagnation especially at the higher ranks.
Seasons explained:
"Seasons are a new competitive feature for Arena which will give you a chance to continually challenge yourself in ranked playlists, and also prove that you’ve improved your game since the last Season. The January 2016 Season will begin today, with the Cartographer’s Gift update, and end on January 31, which will make the first season a little over a month long. Moving forward, we’re going to keep an eye on feedback regarding season length.
Now that the season has begun, all of your Pre-Season ranks are still viewable on your Halo Waypoint Service Record, and all CSRs for ranked playlists have been reset, giving you a chance to place in each of these playlists again. At the end of each Season, those who qualified in at least one playlist (by playing 10 placement matches in any ranked playlist) will earn an exclusive seasonal pack reward emblem, only available that Season."

It would be nice if they had it longer I played all weekend and went from platinum 3 Friday night to diamond 5 Sunday night just to find out I got reseted today

Please make your argument better than “it’s stupid”. Why or how or when or what makes it stupid?
So far I think the seasons are the perfect length, I’ve pretty much hit a wall in my current divisions and hopefully with this reset I can go back to winning.

Your probably right. I initially said in the feedback thread that I thought 1 month was too short but think it’s probably better to just get a fresh start again rather than keep bashing your head against a wall.
I don’t like the length of the seasons because I find it hard to get invested in my ranks in them. It won’t deter me from playing Halo, though.

What’s so stupid about it. You still end up matches with similar skill leveled players, even during your placements…
but the reset ranks gives people a reason to come back and reevaluate their skill progression.

You’ll likely get placed at or around diamond 5 anyway if that’s your true skill level… I wouldn’t worry about it.
I like the idea of seasons. It keeps me interested in playing and improving in the game.
Seasons are too short in my opinion. I think they should coincide with the weather seasons- Winter , Spring, Summer, Fall.
Unless division play is tightened, these ranks are worthless in their current state. Also, if people get placed right back into their previous division like they did from Pre-Season to Season 1, then it is even more pointless to do a “reset”.

The only point I can see for the ranks to be reset is for the people who are in Champion ranks get so, high people would never catch them.

Most Champions got put right back into Champion last season which is dumb. Snipedown is Champ 1 in several playlists with 10 games played. That is ridiculous and makes it to where there is no point in trying. Also the grand “reward” for reaching Champion is the inability to find games. Sounds great, eh?
Adds to the competitive elements.
I like the seasons…but as stated wish they were longer (like 2 months min.)
It would be nice if they where longer, have them as 3 month period according to natural seasons.
Spring, Summer, Autumn (or fall if you’re a degenerate) and Winter seasons, with better rewards at the end. Maybe an armour skin for being above a certain rank e.g Plat +
