I’ve been thinking about diving into the Arena with a group of my friends. We’ve all been playing Reach since it came out, but we’ve never decided to make the transition to serious, competitive gameplay. On the whole, the lot of us are nothing incredible; there’s no way we’d make Onyx. I figure we are all between bronze and silver. My question is this: is it even possible for people of moderate skill to play the Arena and still enjoy the experience? Or is the playlist only populated by the hyper competitive who are insanely good?
great idea (with friends part) you’ll need a team.
I made 20% onyx in august with my pals and they made 60% onyx.
You may want to practice in mlg, and download the arena maps and practice in customs on them.
Its easy at first, but after you get rated (around low gold/high silver), you start to see the skill gap.
Around 80% onyx, you’ll have some decent competition, remember, practice in mlg.
It can be really fun, and sometimes really frustrating, just remember:
*never quit out
*never lag out
*worry about winning against high % kids
*worry about losing to low % kids
*dont worry about your rating, it doesnt seem to matter
