So you are saying that if Halo 3 would’ve been crap like Halo 5 it would’ve still sold a lot just because of Halo 2?
I honestly dgaf about campaign after they mucked it up with 5. Just put out a multiplayer only classic Halo with modern graphics, every classic map remastered, some new maps, all the weapons and gametypes from Ce to Reach, and a modern forge mode and I’d be happy. Doesn’t even need to be a mainline Halo game just a download only side game. I’d play it forever. Heck they could hire Certain Affinity to do it, just like H2A.
People probably would have played H2A like crazy if they had made more maps for it and fixed the weird hit delay. That game had a ton of potential for map packs but died thanks to how broken MCC was at launch.
Sprint, abilities, and all the other advanced mobility crap have been in Halo for the past 10 years, it’s time to give us a classic Halo game without sprint and abilities. Also, people on here seem to think that sprint and abilities are needed for Halo to “succeed” in modern times despite ever since they were added to the game less and less people have been playing Halo and buying Halo.
I honestly want to be surprised. Taking out the spartan boost and charge makes sprint fine, for me anyway. I’m still able to get the headshot on someone who is sprinting. It’s no advantage, and really doesn’t screw up the balance of multiplayer. I would love dual wield. I’ve had a good time with Halo 5 multiplayer, although it was a grind with the req system. So I’m expecting to be impressed, with the knowledge 343 has gained regarding their fanbase and their game design.

That’s just the way they do there crosshairs, halo 5 did the same thing. There’s no way they would implement such dumb universally hated thing. I know I’m shooting myself in the foot about the whole sprint argument, but that’s not bloom.

Compared to 1 and 2 it is. They didn’t have that.
-Fast Movement Speed (No sprint)
-Fast Acceleration (for strafe)
-Pistol/AR start
-Pistol is 4sk with a perfect TTK at or under a second
-AR is good but has big damage drop off after a certain range.
-BR/DMR both map pick-ups as pseudo power weapons.
-Both also 4sk with kill times close to/the same as the pistol.
-BR is better at mid range, DMR better at long range.
-Grenades with shorter fuse and bigger splash damage (no hit markers)
-Large selection of weapons (all the classics)
-Equipment as map pick up. Stuff like shields, grav lifts, regens, teleporters, jet pack, grappling hook, evade, etc.
-Smaller arena style maps in more of a Halo CE style while also bringing back classics from other games.
-Asymmetrical maps based on holding high ground like Prisoner and Construct
-Your typical symmetrical arena style maps like Warlock, Derelict, and Midship.
-Asymmetrical two base maps that are great for 1v1s like Lockout and Guardian
-Symmetrical two base maps like Sanctuary, The Pit, And Narrows.
-One base defense maps like Zanzibar and High Ground
-And big two base maps like Blood Gulch, Avalanche, and Valhala loaded with a bunch of vehicles.
-Ranked/Social playlists with ranked being 1-50. And there being a competitive “ladder” type playlist with seasons.
-343 should let left over pros/the competitive community decide on the final settings for this playlist. No radar and 4v4 is a must.

I agree. Im glad there’s equipment, but I was disappointed that dual weilding didn’t return. If there had to be abilities of some sort, I would say at the most make infinite like h5 mythic arena playlist. Only thrust and stabilizer, but classic halo with new maps would be the more fun imo
