Anyone else disappointed by Microsoft and 343 for showing a trailer for Halo 6 at E3? Halo Infinite does look interesting but not what I expected after a 3 year wait. Does this mean that Halo 6 has taken a backseat or does this mean Infinite will finish Halo 6 and start a new idea? Anyone know?

Halo infinite is halo 6 and it was never going to come out this year either way.The earliest I would expect it i’s fall 2019,but will most likely come out fall 2020
personally I just hope that the trailers of Halo 6 Infinite will be more real than the Story-trailer from Halo 5 which said, you have to hunt the master chief during the campaign but actually it was just a bad explained hunt for about 4 missions and after that a secure mission…
I would like to see some good things with Halo 6, but the warthog at the end (if this is the new engine) the graphic is way better than the graphic from Halo 2 Ann.

I swear that if they try and make it strictly for a new console that I will give up. Paying 300 to 500 dollars every 4 years gets old for a new console just to see what happens next in an ever evolving story.

It will certainly be cross-gen if its release coincides with the launch of the next Xbox.
Halo Infinite is Halo 6, they’re just dropping the numbering. As for it’s release date, well, they’ve been working on this engine for the better part of the last 3 years. They obviously have a direction for Infinite, however, full on development probably only began early this year or late last year. We just need to be patient and hope they use this time to do a good job, which it looks like they are.

Halo Infinite Is gonna be on Windows 10 As well, and possibly cross-platform
They did say, didn’t they, that Halo Infinite was being designed/told in such a way as that it would be the perfect landing place for new people to the series?
I hope that means that possibly the campaign might be very lengthy, maybe double that of normal? And that it can maybe smoothly wrap up the loose ends of H5 relatively quickly and then progress onto this new generation of Halo storytelling.
One can hope!
But totally agree with the above about the next gen consoles!
I do relatively well and the expense isn’t a big deal, but that doesn’t mean I want to fork out that much just to play a game I like in its ideal VI environment.
I wish they sold Xbox’s with the body being relatively easy to open(user friendly?) and that way every time there’s an upgraded console come out they release equivalent graphics cards/cpu’s/storage and what not that you can just open up the body and slot in at a much more minor expense than buying a whole new console to stay modern.

It’s probably going to come out in 2019 to co-inside with Gears 5. Xbox needs 2 of its biggest franchises to come out in the same year

The last part would be an awesome pitch to the company. Could make you some money. Money isn’t an issue here either but I do have other priorities that take president such as my two sons and my wife. Granted my sons play on my console too so if they don’t screw up, it might be an investment worth thinking about. Just gets old trading all the games in, buying new controllers and headphones, reloading everything that is cross over so you can still play the games you like. You’re idea would be a great way to stop this. It could also still make them money too. Let’s say for example the system we have can be upgraded for a fraction of the cost but they control the extra card or chip or whatever to install to bring it up to speed. They would be able to retain older gamers that don’t want to keep upgrading while bring more in thereby getting them more money. Good Idea!
Yeah most likely pushed back to sometime in 2019. I’m happy about this because it means that they may finally get this one done right but a little sad because we have to wait another year

RIght!
Like Microsoft sells and owns some great gaming PC rigs which run on basically that same concept. The tower is easy to open and instal new cards, chips, drives and stuff in. Why not have that for Xbox?
Financially, for them, wouldn’t it possibly create a much more consistent income stream?
I’d be upgrading my Xbox all the time if this were a thing. Overall, I’d probably end up spending more on one Xbox with the upgrades over time than the cost of a whole new console.
It being incremental would add so much more control to it, and make it easier to spend my dosh.
Someone needs to make a good pitch out of this!
I’m not disappointed that’s going to be later to play I just want the game to polished very well in high quality then Halo 5 was.

I’m hoping you’re right and that this means that it’ll be right. Taking away split screen and off line mode for firefight was enough to make ma and alot of people I play with both online and at my house quit. Getting 4 consoles together and having 16 people play together in one house was awesome. I hope they get this one right and we can go back to those days. thats the reason my friends and I still in vest in Microsoft products and 343.

To me, this looks like a 2020 release. Gears 5 already has Xbox’s coveted fall 2019 release spot so it looks like Halo is getting the extra year. I’d imagine in the meantime the MCC will continue to be updated and supported.

Well it was only a teaser trailer so no it does not mean anything bad it just means we have a lot more waiting to do.
