So, what is the pool of radiance good for?

If you don’t know what it is, it’s the ultra-rare fuel rod cannon with a red coat of paint. I seem to have better luck using a regular fuel rod gun than it.

The community seems to be good at figuring the role that each weapon in the sandbox serves, so what’s the best way to use the pool of radiance? Is it good or should I sell all of them I have?

Changes from the Type-33

  • Slower rate of fire. - Rounds leave explosive sub-munitions behind that will kill anybody caught in their explosion.Sounds like PoR is best for suppressing entrances or target-rich areas to get clean-up kills.

I’ve had better luck with regular and Light of Urs. Here is what I have noticed about Pool of Radiance, the initial blast has less damage, but it explodes again after impact. I haven’t used it much lately because it frustrated me that a dead on hit with the first blast was not a kill. However, it would probably be pretty useful in clearing out around corners when trying to take out bases.

Destroying the enemy core. And keeping people away from areas due to the after effect. A must have for WZ assault

Imagine it as a hand held Banshee Ultra bomb.

I feel like it should get a buff. Direct hits should kill just like reg fuel rods. It should retain the buffs Light of Urs gets, faster projectile speed, more explosive area of effect damage. Its residual splash damage over time could even be increased; for example, take a look at the length splash damage persists with Corpse Maker, Tartarus’ Gavel and Void’s Tear have.

It’s not the T-33, it’s the T-58.

It’s good for selling it
Pool of Radiance is probably the worst tier 3 weapon in the whole req system. People cry about twin-jewels of maethrillian, while it literally wrecks vehicles, yet no one ever cries about the most useless weapon ever: pool of radiance.

Yeah, after I directly hit someone with a shot and they didn’t die I kinda dismissed it as a useful weapon, but I wanted to hear from the community to see if it was actually good.
