Forgive my ignorance. I just want an actual definitive answer. Are the Promtheans the ‘Ancient Evil’ or is more likely to be the Precursors? And or the Flood…
It hasn’t been revealed yet.
The identity of the Ancient Evil has yet to be revealed. There are no Flood in Halo 4, and the Prometheans are the main-enemies, making the Covenant a side-enemy.
Hasnt been revealed yet, Considering the Covenant and Promethians have been comfirmed then there is really no telling.
Could it be whats in the Cryptum? Maybe but i dont think so. Just my opinion.
Personaly i think theres something else behind the scenes pulling the strings that hasnt been announced yet.

Have you read cryptum?,because only prometheans can enter a cryptum.
The Ancient Evil sounds like something really old and really bad, like seven-month old leftovers. 
OT: I don’t think the ancient evil would really be the forerunners or leftovers, most likely something we will have to wait to see.

Why yes i have, if your asking why i set whats in the Cryptum apart from the Prometheans, its because, what we fight in Halo 4 are AI suboardants of the Prometheans designed to fight the flood. Whats in the Cryptum is an actual Forerunner Promethean.
