In the ten year Span. Is it just armor and vehicle coatings? Because without warzone I don’t see them adding in new guns, unless they make new maps where those gums can only be found .(besides forge) of I remember they said Elites are not completely out of the picture so we might have that. No duel welding so team duels is not going to be in action stack ever.
I’m starting think this game will get old pretty fast. And they only went with the 10 year plane because it’s the cool new hip thing to do. Do seasons and passes.
I’m going to be 36 in ten years maybe 37-38 by the time the game CEA out. I don’t think I want to play one game for that long. I think I would rather have some spin off games and halo 7.
I think when they mean a 10 year lifespan for the game, it really means that Halo Infinite will be the only game for Halo that comes out in the next ten years. What I mean by that is that it won’t be like how Halo CE came out, and then three years later Halo 2 came out and was technically its own separate thing with its own multiplayer and campaign in a standalone launcher. They will definitely add new maps and new modes to multiplayer, as well as new armors and coatings and other cosmetic options. They’ll add new guns too, although they will probably not be variations quite like the style of req guns like in Warzone. They will add new campaigns too, the only difference being instead of these new stories requiring their own separate launcher, you just boot up Infinite and then select the story campaign you wish to play. Similar to MCC where you can boot up any of the legacy Halo campaigns within one discrete launcher. I think that is what they mean by a 10 year plan for the game, not that the game will remain static for 10 years while they work on a sequel. There will be sequels to Infinite’s story for sure, they will just be contained within the same game as Infinite for the foreseeable future.

Well that would be ideal. But I can’t help but seeing this going one of two ways. One 343 themselves or forced by investors to get greedy. Or two the game is a let down and the game doesn’t last for their ten year thing is forgotten about and a new Halo is announced later.
I think the best way to look at it is that this way 343 can keep the same multiplayer going strong for 10 years or more without having to completely design a new multiplayer from scratch for every new release. Granted certain aspects of multiplayer have remained the same throughout every release of Halo, so it’s not like Bungie or 343 have had to start completely from scratch every time. I think if they did make new releases of Halo every 3-4 years that brings the expectation of having a whole new set of maps as well as possibly significant gameplay changes. This way 343 can focus more on creating new and interesting campaigns while supporting multiplayer through new maps, modes and events. Of course this could not work out if the base foundation of multiplayer is flawed or not fun. From what we’ve seen so far I am very optimistic as the gameplay looks fun and it seems like a great evolution of Halo 3’s multiplayer. There is always the risk of 343 over-monetizing the game or nickel and diming us for things, but from what I’ve heard so far it doesn’t seem like that will be the case. I’m sure eventually a new Halo to replace the Infinite platform will be announced someday, but that will most likely be for whatever generation of consoles succeeds the Series X/S, which won’t be for at least 7-8 years.

I think they have promised full DLC for the multiplayer and single player campaign.
New Campaign experiences. More Campaigns over time, new multiplayer modes, maps, unlockable items like emblems, banners, coatings, and weapon charms. New weapons, new vehicles, new armors and visors. Maybe an expanded multiplayer PvE mode like Firefight OG and an expanded Firefight without req’s, maybe more multiplayer story-driven experiences that would give us a Reach vibe in terms of our Spartan being in cutscenes. Events, Action Sack, holiday specials, community maps and modes and maybe even community designed armors being added in, there’s loads to be added to Infinite my friend.
Not to mention more features like, oh idk, dynamic weather or storms being added to BTB maps.
