I mean we don’t have
- No Forge and co-op at launch. - No news of Firefight. - Nothing about Ray tracing - Season 1 cinematic is non canon or misleading. Same as Halo 4 cinematic opening. But it was awesome. - The game is rated T, so I guess no walls splattered grunt blood, and creepy food theme? - No new campaign footage. - No Legendary collection. Was hoping for cool stuff. - XP and Challenge seems bad. Almost like Gears 5 system? - No Assassination at launch. I want to stab. - Not all classic Halo weapon will be in the game or at launch? - No playable Elite.Copied from Taichgi in another thread
Yea we get information but it’s a whole lot of nothing honestly, it’s been just dead silence on what this game is, any news is always about something were not getting at launch.
I have now accepted that were never going to get a feature complete release from 343i as they can’t complete games at launch, but does what this game have at launch have enough content to hold people over for 3-6 months while waiting for modes that will prolong the longevity of the game? Which i don’t see happening honestly, every live service always fails, this will be no different.
Yeah. I don’t post on here often, but I am pretty disappointed as to what this launch is looking like and I am expecting Halo 5 level content at launch. I would be surprised at this point if they have a legitimate amount of content because they have given me absolutely no reason to believe that. Somewhere along the line development went through issues and Covid can only excuse so much.
I’m waiting. Not a huge MP fan but co-op is one of the two reasons I love this franchise (the other being the story, but halo 5 has me worried about that too). It gives me time to see how the game actually launches, and if I’m still interested in the game by the time co-op comes out, hopefully they’ll have ironed out other issues by then.
While I like my halo levels big and sandboxy. I don’t think going actual open world is the right move for halo. I’ve had other games I love in franchises where the open world addition is actually a detriment to its plot, rather than an improvement, and they were actually RPG’s where open world makes a degree of sense.
Of course I’m sure the usual suspects will show up to tell us we’re bad for not pre-ordering the game immediately and not having faith in 343 cause they love halo so much.
Sometimes it baffles me to think that this game was supposed to be released almost a year ago. Seriously what would the game have looked like…shocking

A coffin… probably.

Ok some of the stuff your complaining about is a good reason for concern and other just usless. No assasination at launch isn’t bad because 343 have stated themselves how the majority of players don’t use it so why waste time on development if no one is going to use it, the no playable elites while sucks really has zero effect on how good the game will be, now for all the halo weapons you can’t complain about it since we still have no idea what all the weapons will be, and the campaign footage I wouldn’t be worried about because 1 I personally don’t want to be spoiled on anymore of the story and 2 they already said they’ll be showing footage before launch. There is a few more stuff I disagree with but the most part you are right but this is the next 10 years of halo, if anything ends up being really bad 343 will hopefully fix it as soon as possible
It’s shaping up to be Halo 5’s launch all over again. I was naive enough to think that with six years of development time (double that of any mainline Halo before it) this was not going to be the case. Halo 5 was missing so much in launch that I believe it resulted in unreparable damage to the games long term player population. Anecdotally, I had people I was playing with on launch week that were flabbergasted that the big new mode (Warzone) has just three maps. These same people wrote the game off pretty quick and moved onto other titles that did have a sizable amount of content at release. Of course I stuck around and after eight months they had released another three Warzone maps, but it was too little too late, many players had move on.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg in terms of missing content from that games launch, tons of other Halo staples were completely absent with their addition coming ”free” post-launch. The parallels to Infinite are uncanny. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the concept of a game being supported for many years post-launch and prefer it to them pumping out another sequel as quickly as possible, but is it so much to ask to have a solid and stable foundation for the launch package? A foundation that can be built upon for years and years instead of half a foundation that’s cracked that takes a year or two to finally be complete and stable enough to expand upon?
It seems like we will be getting a teaser of a Halo game on December 8th, one where we can play a campaign with some options and a few multiplayer modes and that’s it. If you want something akin to when Halo 3 launched on September 25th, 2007 or Halo: Reach launched on September 14th, 2010 you will have to wait around a year to get such a comprehensive Halo game.
I can’t wait to play the campaign tbh. Not really worried about anything else. It will all come in time anyway
I don’t see how no new campaign footage factors into the launch of the game.

Looks at Destiny, Fortnite, Warzone

And everyone that plays them don’t even actually enjoy it.
Doubt it will have a Firefight/Warzone mode. So that’s another mode not there at launch.
T rating pretty much means no Flood now.
Probably no Spartan Ops mode either.
This game is going to be launching in a barebones state in normal live service fashion. Hence why live service games had a bad reputation for being the junkfood for videogaming.

And they are all very similar. Games are losing their uniqueness. And following trends.
Latest post said, no customization for in-game dialogue for launch.
I think it meant we can’t switch off personal AI without also switching off Jeff Steitzer and Spartan chatter. All or nothing. And you must choose an AI.
No settings to remove to pointless babbling from the AI either for launch, and only keep the useful stuff.
And no way to turn off outlines at launch either

Aside from all being shooters, those games are definitely not similar. Since when does Destiny have a Battle Royale mode? When did Warzone get PvE raids and strikes?

I enjoy Destiny very much, despite all its flaws and quirks. The same goes for fans of the other 2.

Engaging in hyperbole only weakens your argument. The reason those games have lasted as long as they have is because the majority of people do enjoy them and enjoy the stream of content/updates live service provides.
It’s not hard to find live service games that have failed (Anthem) but you can’t deny when it works the fans appreciate it.
