So when Halo 4 came out I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that all active ODST’s were now Spartan IV’s or were going to be shortly. Now my view has changed due to the fact that there is now Gen 2 ODST armour variant. So does that mean there will still be a division that goes “feet first into hell and then back again?” We have seen that Master Chief has survived orbital drops but he usually doesn’t stay conscious. Perhaps these new ODST’s will abandon the pods and there armour will be specialized to drop from orbit? How do you think that would work? Air brakes? Hard light parachutes? Jetpacks? Feel free to discuss.
Well I always thought that Halo 5 should be revolutionized and structured like so. As it is now on the xbox one and could run and process alot more data.
CAMPAIGN
Halo 5 Campaign option to switch between the UNSC and Covenant. The UNSC campaign follows the journey of John-117, who is accompanied by Fred-104, Kelly-087, Linda-058. The Covenant(separatist elites) campaign follows the Arbiter Thel’Vadam, who is accompanied by Shipmaster Rtas’Vadum, Unnamed Brute Chieftan of the Jiralhanae (if peace is restored with the brutes) and unnamed Honour Guard Ultra; on their quest to achieve peace and equality with the brutes and storm covenant.
SPECIAL OPS
Halo 5 Special Ops option to switch between the UNSC and Covenant. The UNSC you play as your own spartan-IVs forming crimson team for the season. The Covenant(storm covenant) you play as your own elites following Didacts Hand Jul’Mdama for a season.
FIREFIGHT
Halo 5 Firefight, you can choose to play as your ODST customized how you want forming a squad of four versing hordes of flood/precursor, covenant, promethean/forerunner and human insurrectionists. You have fortification options and interactive aspects; vehicle drops, weapon drops, AI(ODST/Spartan-IV) drops, terminal switch like doors or defensive turrets.
MULTIPLAYER
Multiplayer should feature the option to switch between Spartans and Elites as well as 343 Industries adding in Brutes(if peace is made) and perhaps forerunners(if their still alive).

Wrong thread?
The ODST Armor is cosmetic, but it could be possible there are teams of Spartan IVs who specialize in combat drops. They would likely wear something similar to ODST.
@Stubborn Barren
Brutes would be even more difficult to balance hitbox and damage wise than Elites. They have no shield indicators, and it would depend on which variant of Brute you use. Halo 2 Hairy Bullet Sponges or Halo 3 Weak Ones, or Halo Reach’s naked ones. They are too different. Elites and Spartans are generally considered matches, height is the only problem. Brutes are not only bigger in almost every way, they’re stronger and technically tougher.
Forerunners, live Forerunners, would stomp Spartans and Elites sooo badly. Not only would they be huge (bigger than Knights, most live Prometheans), and they are incredibly strong. That goes to Warrior-Servants in general too, and bringing in other fastes to fight wouldn’t make sense. Forerunners are out. We needed a quick-time event and Cortana’s direct intervention to defeat the Didact. Note defeat. His armor was so powerful it disrupted the Pulse Grenade’s Ionization Field and simply exploded near his chest. It knocked him off balance and he fell. I highly doubt he’s dead.
We certainly would be were it a straight fight.

What about Manipulars or low-ranking Warrior Servants? They would be close to human size (Manipulars are about 1.5m tall)
Also, it would be cool to play as an ODST again.
I don’t think the ODSTs were ever supposed to be disbanded or completely converted. Yes, they are the best of the best. That’s why so many S4s are former ODSTs but that doesn’t mean that the program had the funds or scope to convert all ODSTs to spartans.
Not to mention that not every hell jumper would be suited for it. Personality and genetic match (despite the relaxed standards with new tech) would still come into play. They aren’t going to make the investment to convert a head case or someone with early stage Boren’s syndrome.
That would be SPACE MADNESS!

Not all of them are. While ODSTs would be prime candidates to be Spartans (look at Bucks firefight voice description in Reach), there is a finite budget for the Spartan Program. The estimated number of Spartans is estimated to be less than 1000, so there would still be a lot of ODSTs kicking around.
The remaining ODSTs combating the insurrectionists? In Halo 4, a few of the Marines state that there is rebellion brewing again. Ungrateful brats… The UNSC saved the human race, and they’re bickering again.

The size would be fixed, but then we still have some problems.
Manipulars aren’t fighters.
Manipulars would still wear some kind of combat skin, which is already supposed to be a lot more powerful than Mjolnir. Unless they run naked…
[Campaign side] I know people keep yammering on about Buck, but I would very mutch like to see the return of Dutch. And the Rookie. We knew so little about him and there was so much more of his character that could still be explored.
[Multiplayer side] Because of the progression of the Halo games up to Halo 3: ODST, I really thought both Brutes and ODSTs would be playable in Halo Reach. But this was not the case. We were not able to play as Brutes and not even ODSTs. And now in Halo 4 we can’t even play as Elites. It’s like we’ve been taking steps backwards…
(Halo: CE - Spartans
Halo 2 - Spartans & Elites
Halo 3 - Spartans & Elites
Halo 3: ODST - ODSTs
You can see each Halo game up to this point has added a new playable character
Halo Reach - Spartans & Elites
Halo 4 - Spartans
And now we’re removing them and have arrived back at just Spartans)
What I’d like to see in Halo Xbox 1 is for all of these to be playable. Imagine a game mode like Dominion with Brutes, Elites and ODSTs running around with Spartans.
Halo 5 campaign should be the same overall story just with multiple points of view I would prefer a blue team campaign focusing on the Master chief with Co op players filling the roles of Fred Kelly and Linda. An ODST campaign played as the rookie with co op played with multiple rookies or other nameless ODST with stealth missions and missions with Vergil exploring the of runner tech. And a fire team crimson campaign similar to the noble teams campaign with out every member dying tragically.
Also if the brutes came back I think they would come back as a separate faction with the goal of unleashing the flood and killing everything.
Actually, remember that humans DID fight the Prometheans. For a long time. (Forerunner Trilogy)
But as far as ODSTs are concerned, I imagine there were plenty of SpecOps soldiers that opted out of the Spartan program. Remember that Spartans are modified biologically and mechanically. ODSTs aren’t. So I would imagine that ODSTs are still just as viable as they were before any of the Spartan / Orion programs existed.
Also, remember in the Halo anime shorts, that a Spartan was dropped in an ODST SOEIV with the ODST assassination team.

Let the ODST’s reign supreme! As far as we know, spartan IV’s just sit in infinity and play little space games.
They gave ODST’s their own game and showed how B.A they are
They gave spartan IV’s their own game… we’ve seen their performance…

And they’ve kicked Yoink. Crimson and Shadow team just to name 2.
Why do people count crimson? Its a player controlled unit.
You yourself playing solo can be crimson team…
> Why do people count crimson? Its a player controlled unit.
>
> You yourself playing solo can be crimson team…
Because while the identity of Crimson members remains anonymous, they in fact are canon, so their actions completed in Spartan Ops are factual. Liberties are taken in the form of what -Yoink!- and number the team is comprised of, but the general consensus is that they do indeed exist.
Therefore they are included in the teams listed.
But YOU are crimson. Crimson is you, all I’ve understood is without you there is no crimson. And where are all of these other random teams coming from?
> But YOU are crimson. Crimson is you, all I’ve understood is without you there is no crimson. And where are all of these other random teams coming from?
Exactly. We, the players, are the embodiment of Crimson. Just because Crimson members are hollow for our imagination does not mean their actions are not true. The actions we partake is still accepted in canon. While not present in cutscenes, Crimson has helped with some crucial discoveries during the second occupation of Requiem.
Crimson is no different than Noble Six. Just that they are a team, and Six was a single Spartan. Regardless, their faceless actions contributed to the goals of the UNSC.
I’m not sure I understand your question. What do you mean by “random teams?”
> But YOU are crimson. Crimson is you, all I’ve understood is without you there is no crimson. And where are all of these other random teams coming from?
And YOU are Noble 6. That doesn’t make the actual character non-canon though.
Ah but there was noble TEAM, and noble 6 had set character, the default spartan for reach in mark V with all black. even in the cut scenes. Crimson team is whatever
