Anyone who doesn’t want to buy the XBOX One but loves Halo? is screwed. It’s being developed for Xbox One, which wasn’t supposed to replace the 360, and unless they decide to let Halo 5 come out for the 360 as well? A lot of us won’t be playing it.
Thoughts?
Halo is one of the levers Microsoft will use to increase the desirability of Xbox One. While some of us might say that is cold-hearted, it is a smart and necessary business strategy. Transitions to new technology - especially ones that are not backwards-compatible - are always tough and someone always feels like they are getting screwed. But at some point, the transition must come.
Microsoft has decided that Xbox One + H5 is that point.
What the heck are you talking about? Xbox One is the successor to the 360. Why would Halo 5 be released on it?
Microsoft has always used games as a lever to draw you in and if you want another reason to buy it why not titanfall or other games, plus halo 6 will come out in a few years so its worth buying
I personally think Halo is a dying franchise. I’m looking forward to Bungie making me fall in love again. 343i is just ruining the francise, Halo 5 poncho wars.
Considering how Halo 4 turned out, a 360 would most likely explode trying to run Halo 5(?).

It’s the Xbox 360’s successor. Remember how Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 weren’t re-released on the original Xbox? Surprise, surprise… If you don’t want the Xbox One, the future of Halo won’t be available to you. Tricky Microsoft
Same thing happened going from halo 2 on the original Xbox to halo 3 on the 360, it has to happen.
Halo 4 support will be limited to just playlist updates and probably outsourcing map development toward another company (map packs to keep people playing). As far as substantial updates to fix issues goes, not going to happen.
well did you have to buy a 360 for Halo 3? There’s a time for change and it’s now
Wait, kind of like how Halo 3 destroyed the Halo-lovers who didn’t want to buy a 360?
Oh wait, people ended up buying one eventually. Get over it. It’s business. It’s not different from Nintendo making Pokemon X and Y only for the 3DS.
From what I’m guessing its rather best to either save up or just wait until the price lowers.
It’s just that they said it wouldn’t replace the 360. I understand change and transition, but they’re selling the One as an Xbox Television set more than a game console. Right now the gaming industry is in a free fall and they’re trying to spend more time taking over the living room.
Halo 5 looks great so far, I’m excited, I just really don’t know how to accept the Xbox One just yet.
> Halo 5 looks great so far, I’m excited, I just really don’t know how to accept the Xbox One just yet.
Which is exactly why Microsoft is using H5 to get you to accept it.
Why was not Halo 3 on the original Xbox?
I won’t get the xbox one still. If you’re obsessed with Halo campaign, I’m sure someone will post a run through Halo 5 on youtube. Watch that instead of wasting money.
Touché.
I know a lot of fans were angry in general about the Xbox One. Did they ever explain the whole internet thing? Where they couldn’t play games even offline if it hadn’t been connected to the internet?
You’re telling me I wont be able to buy Halo 5 for my original Xbox? Come on! It’s only 13 year-old hardware! There’s no way developers have moved past it’s system specs!

It needs to be connected every 24 hours or something dumb like that. And they get to force you into throwing it away and buying the next console since it will be unusable once service for it is cut.
Microsoft got all the multimedia yoink out of they way and use the games (the whole point) to draw you in, you wont even notice the multimedia crap less than use it so whats the big deal plus you get quite alot of good games other than halo
