Is this new? First I’ve heard of this?
I hated how halo 5 had one game mode with a guaranteed battle rifle starter, that game mode was big team battle

Halo 2 ranked big clan matches had smg and 2 grenade starts. Halo 3 ranked had Br starts. No one gives 2 flyin effs about Halo 4, Halo 5 had H5 pistol starts.
The H5 pistol was basically a BR. Sure the H3BR in H5 was better, but the pistol was a great medium to long range weapon.
The sidekick is not the H5 pistol. Everyone needs to stop pretending it is.

I’m a little confused here as well. As far as I’m aware, there’s no specific Ranked Slayer playlist. You have Team Slayer and Tactical Slayer but neither is ranked. The only ranked Slayer is in Ranked Arena.

Ranked arena yesterday was BR starts and included objective.
I’m looking at the multiplayer listings right now and I’m not seeing any Ranked Slayer:

Yeah I just don’t know what 343 has against the battle rifle.
I love how halo MCC handles the battle rifle, “precision slay” genius!
Maybe when infinite’s out for a while playlist will improve. So far, one mode as the battle rifle, it’s not even in big team battle

Yeah theirs only one ranked mode currently. Thank god it has battle rifle

Team slayer is social, not ranked.
They are considering changing it to ranked in the future.
They have said they need to iron out problems first such as there being 3 rank systems (inputs, crossplay etc). And there’ll possibly be different maps and variations.
I’m sure when they do this, it’ll be BR starts and no radar as arena is now.

this thread is the test flight thread of ranked slayer.
he should have ranked slayer with ar/br or sidekick and another mlg slayer ranked with br start only…
we need ranked playlist with AR too like in every other halo… if you want a ranked playlist without AR , its fine but its should be his own category MLG slayer.
I think Ranked Slayer should be Sidekick starts.
BR really lowers incentive to trade up, while Sidekick is powerful but can be traded up for better cross mapping with BR or better CQC with AR/Needler/Bulldog/Heatwave.
Though BR in this game has been significantly diminished in dominance inside the sandbox, it’s still a very powerful 4 burst kill with the ability to cross map. Or better yet, give everyone the Commando :^)
If enough people use the Commando and complain about it, maybe they’ll reduce the recoil and bloom.
