Hey guys, do you remember this (Or…) back to the first days of April? And do you remember all the hype towards the Halo 4 marketing plans?
I don’t see much of this marketing, and those domains aren’t being used right now. Should I expect something for the next 2 months?

I’m sure it was just MS purchasing the domain so other copycats don’t fool people into thinking it’s a legit Halo website.
Well, they did it because someone else might register the domain for themselves and put -Yoink!- on it (for example) then would demand a huge payment for the domain.
It’s also an obvious phishing spot.

Likely answer, people bought the domains halo4beta.com and stuff and attempted to phish people a while back, a few people from 343i even began tweeting saying to avoid these sites and how they are blatant phishing attempts.
heh… yup. With Halowaypoint being the hub, i tend to agree with the others that is was bought mainly to lock the name so nobody else would get it.
Anybody remember before the gov made it illegal to use copy like names of government sites/office the funny thing that would happen when the typed org/com instead of .gov? I imagined many surprised parents coming finding their kids on the wrong website because of a paper for school!
