A whole year for a season and now u made the game unplayable on xbox wow … frame drops game studers and it looks wierd now the question is how many weeks will we have to endure this torture …

For some reason it automatically dropped my frame rate from 120 down to 60 so I turned it back to 120 and it seemed to be smother but yeah the game looked very wierd and stuttered which is why I checked the frame rate and noticed that.

Had sane on my series s, it keeps defaulting all the settings every time I start the game :-/

Same here. There are some big issues under the surface in this update. If they aren’t quick fixes then they will have destroyed any good will this season launch could have generated.

Yeah I was fairly excited about this update as the new maps (aside from chasm not a big fan of that one) looked good and the new cosmetics and cores looked good. The smoke screen or whatever it’s called was fun to use as well. Doesn’t do the game any good to have nice new stuff and run like crap though and my stuttering and lag was as bad as ever. Not sure what to think at this point.

No way was this tested properly, just seems like some bugs get fixed, then new season comes and adds even more bugs appear on top of the older bugs, done a few tickets already :-/

So it would seem. They have fixed some things though. My menus all load much faster and I don’t get weird blurry splash screens while games are loading. The rubber banding at the start of games seems to have been fixed too.
I guess they’re just between a rock and a hard place. They can’t delay the season again because that will be too embarrassing, so they release in this state and if they can fix it quickly it might work out to be less embarrassing.

Something feels really off and different on the series x. Doesn’t feel like before… hope it gets fixed it’s not enjoyable

I cant play at all now. I was able to get in maybe 2 hours of matches before the crashes started. Im on xbox one and have tried everything from uninstalling the game and reinstalling, to power cycling the xbox and my modem. Everytime i try to play mulitplayer, the match starts but then the screen freezes and then kicks me back to the xbox main menu. Ive never had issues like this before season 3.
I dont understand why it was working fine from like 4 pm eastern time til like 6 pm. I was actually able to get all the weekly challenges done and was working on the ultimate challenge when the crashing started. Ive had a dozen crashes. Nothing i do fixes it. Im surprised i havent been banned for leaving so many matches

Double check all your settings, had same thing on series s that it felt really off, until I went through and re-did all my settings. It’s defaulting everything every time I start the game incl fov, HDR etc etc

On pc the performance was also bad. Even in the armor hall

Not just Xbox. On PC, when I go to the armor hall, sometimes it just drops to like 13 FPS or something, and crashes to desktop. Happened twice now. I can barely even view the new stuff. Unbelievable UI optimization fail. How can the menu use 6 GB of GPU??? It has never had this issue before.
Edit: NO WAY, IT’S CAUSED BY THE NEW GOLD CHESTPLATE. WHAT A JOKE. If I take off the UA/MACROSPLINE chest plate I bought, I get 80+ FPS again.
Edit 2: I TRIED TO EQUIP THE NEW WRIST, AND IT CRASHED. IT’S ALL THE NEW STUFF. ANYTHING FROM SEASON 3 DROPS FRAMES AND CRASHES.

I think that might be a coincidence. I haven’t used any chest attachments at all since the S3 launch yet mine game is still screwed up.

Updated my post. I tried to wear the new gold wrist and crashed to desktop. The new stuff I bought/unlocked is literally unwearable. I can preview and wear any old stuff just fine. New stuff previewed or worn drops frames so hard. Crashed 3 times now just trying stuff on

That’s very interesting but I’m using a Season 1 spec MKVII Spartan and I’m still having problems.
Although I did equip one of the Steel coatings on my MKV core but I have never actually used it. Maybe that’s enough to trigger it.
Whatever the issue is, it’s pathetic, and they need to optimize it before the Fracture event, or it will be unplayable. Crashed 8 times now, only from the Armor Customization menu

Update on my situation. I wasnt able to play last night for hours. Had over a dozen matches crash and go back to the xbox home screen.
So this morning i tired to play quick before going to work and it was fine. I was able to play 2 matches without crashing. The only thing i did different was i switched to an older armor core and older color scheme. All the crashing last night was happening while equiped with one of the new armors and i was using the new watchdog neo colors.
So im not sure if using the new armor set and colors are what caused it.
But if anyone reading this is getting constant crashes, try switching to an old armor and color set and see if that fixes the issue

I’m on the XSX and even the menu system is jarring, laggy unresponsive and drops frame rates…
I also 100% believe the new season 3 stuff is causing the crashing, since I crashed 8 times just checking out the new stuff, but it’s 80+ FPS using old stuff. Don’t get me wrong, it’s unfair how nice some of this new stuff looks, but it’s optimized like garbage.
343, you can’t just go making really beautiful new stuff, that people actually want, and using it causes you to crash
