So as you can see, today I matched Mint Blitz from Str8 Rippin in the H3 throwback playlist. I’ve never seen anyone actually get that kind of K/D in this game, and I’ve been playing for a while. I’ve played against champions alot, but this was a whole other kind of getting beat. It puts things into perspective which I like, and it was a cool opportunity to see where I land on the dominance hierarchy that is Halo. I’ll link the match below. This got me thinking though, I imagine there are some of you guys with seriously good stories about getting stomped by pro players, and with HCS New Orleans coming up, I figured now was a good time to ask about them. So, does anyone have any good ones?

Closest would be whenever I matched Naded in Reach Rumble Pit and I could never keep up with him in kills. The games were usually over pretty quick. In H5, I matched with Contra and Penguin in BTB, but our team got stomped because we were playing against a full tryhard party on Antifreeze. I could barely even get out of our spawn.

Ahhh, thanks for the clarification. Yeah I’ve noticed that about playing champs too, the games end pretty quick, one way or another.
He is the kind of player I love versing. He has montaged me, and yet there are plenty of games I’ve honest to god made him quit.
Since he usually solo queues there is always the chance that he gets bad enough teammates that allow for easy pressure on him and his allies right from spawn. Literally just yesterday he quit a H3 throwback game against me and 3 randoms on sentinel (i think is the name of the map).
He’s a great sniper though, most people online I am fairly confident in overplaying my position if I get a BR or pistol shot onto the sniper, but he is a very good quick scope & no-scope sniper.
Personally I miss seeing Mint Blitz and Kampy in same lobby, or vetoed. So fun to verse them and potentially shut them down. I’ve played for a long time and dabbled in comps since MLG days to current in Australia. I’m by no means a pro, but on the other hand streamers are by no means immortal. Keep practicing and you can get to their level.
Order of learning for solo skill and massive average damage increase in each game; all equally important:
- Train your shot to 60%+
- Know your maps, routes, hidey-holes, jukes etc
- Learn all spawn/counter spawn grenade throws.
- Learn maps spawns then learn gametype spawn influence rules.
All of this stuff is great to know; for example in H3 throwback, Guardian, literally every spawn except blue 1 (pistol/shotty spawn) has grenade angles available on spawn to counter enemy held locations. Green can throw to S1, S2, S3, Gold2, Blue2, Camo Ledge, and most of these to each other. Simply using your spawn grenades on kill cam enemy locations can break a teams hold on the map and increase you damage through the game by ~500, if not net kills/assists.
If you want to be like MintBlitz, -Yoink!- the sniper and practice all day

I love seeing results screens like this, where one person went on a murderous rampage against the other team, but lost because they couldn’t push objective. Sure, Mint Blitz got kills, but you were the real MVP, with two flag caps.
Also, I approve of your playlist choice. Best playlist.

Back in Halo 2 I got matched against the Ogre twins in doubles on sanctuary. They each got a sniper and proceeded to give me the worst defeat I’ve ever experienced. Good times

I matched against Mint Blitz, Vengeful 'Vadam, and GameCheat in the first flight of the MCC Insider (of course 'Vadam and GameCheat aren’t pro-players or anything, but I really like their YouTube content). I’ve also matched Mint and Pingy a few times in Warzone in the not-so-distant past. Man that was an experience lmao.
It’s cool to see for sure. I keep hoping I’ll run into LukeTheNotable, BBK Dragoon, or Prox. But honestly all three of those would crush me, especially Prox lol. That guy is nuts.
I am friends with GH057ayame and when Halo 4 dropped I would receive invites and all the pros of the day would be on. Was always lucky to walk away without being goosed. They would let me hang for three games max before finding a reason to go.
Just matched with and against Mint Blitz last night on MCC for about 10 games, fair to say when matching against him it was a disaster (in one game none of my team got above 1 kill and averaged about 18 deaths) though I did kill him twice in another, I was happy with that being a lonely gold/plat level player…
I matched against mint blitz in halo 5 super fiesta yesterday, he was good, but not the best I’ve seen. He knew ever spawn in the map and used that to his advantage. He also would use parts of the map where you could jump up to higher points so he could snipe you when you spawn. We lost the game, but I didn’t go negative at least
Yeah its crazy to see how good some players are, really humbles you if you think you are all that. They will put you in your place lol
