BTB, where no one moves and it’s just cross mapping with the BR?
Yikes. no thank you

No, Halo 3’s BTB was far different…unless you’re being sarcastic or something.

I’m honestly not being sarcastic, i’m really curious, everyone wanted BR starts and got them, but there’s hardly any map movement, from what I see
The BR in this game is extremely different from the Halo 3 BR. The gameplay itself was wayyyyyyyyyyyy better back then.

Where is all the Git Gud. What Halo3 community is actually mature? That’s amazing, people can act decent. Wow what an amazing crowd Halo3 had.

Its more due to poorly designed maps than anything else.
If you think BTB has no map movement then you neither know what maps, nor movement, nor -Yoinking!- BRs are.
There’s nothing wrong whatsoever with the BR starts. You should be praising them for not giving you that atrocious pistol as a spawn gun.
I’m pretty sure halo 3 btb battle wasn’t br starts
Halo 3 was a great game in its time, but this is nothing like it, way better movement but we don’t have single use equipment. BR starts? I hate them on smaller maps, people keep forgetting that the AR is the iconic weapon of Halo, the original and best. They just like the BR starts because Halo 2 was the first Xbox Live game and it had the BR and SMG in place of the AR.

It was BR with AR secondary starts, but the game meta was much better. Plus vehicles were actually viable.
Oh, and Elephants on Sandtrap.
Surprisingly no one has mentioned that the Battle Rifle in Halo 3 also had significant spread and was projectile instead of hitscan. Both aspects made it pretty mediocre at extended range.

I just remember running for br’s all the time at the start of each game. Must have been for extra ammo. Been awhile

Dont make me laugh. Slower than a tortoise movement. Equipment. The campaign was also terrible. Only thing that saved h3 was forge and custom games.
There’s been movement in every BTB match I’ve played. You can’t really expect to shoot anyone across the entire map . . . but you can hit players across maybe 50% of that length. Not sure why you compared this to H3 when its BR was less effective at range than any other starting weapon we’ve had in the series. Spawning without at least a BR in BTB would just lead to frustration. Imagine trying to challenge DMR users with a magnum.

Skilled players such as myself used to be able to use the projectile spread to advantage. Especially for moving targets.

Pistol atrocious? You are a BR fanboy
Halo 3 used the projectile version of bullets, which means they had travel time (not instant hit/you have to lead your targets) so no. This is nothing like Halo 3 already just because of that one fact. This game is much easier to cross map BR in. Halo 3 long distance BRing took a lot more practice and skill. Also in this game you have a lot more ways to avoid shots than you did in Halo 3. Now you can change speed(sprint/Thruster), change direction instantly and burst in that direction (thruster), and you can float in the air for a short time (ground pound/stabilizers).
The two games are very very different and simply spawning with the same weapons doesn’t make it the same at all.

Go ahead and spawn with a pistol on Guillotine and tell me it’s not atrocious. Please.
I am a BR fanboy. I’m also not an idiot. The pistol is simply garbage for BTB and you’ll get spawn rocked all day by the guys with DMRs and BRs. It’s not fun, it’s not balanced and it’s awful gameplay.
If your definition of map movement is sprinting around in the open expecting not to get shot at then you need to learn HOW to move. Because I have no trouble navigating maps and being unnoticed.
Haha naw man in halo 3 the only way to kill someone across the map was to have a sniper (or a splazer if you are a boss)
