So this is the epic title update....?

• Enabled “X-Markers” on the HUD to designate when and where teammates are killed.
• Updated Active Camo to fully reveal players when they fire all weapons.
• Reduced the auto aim, magnetism, and damage on the Gauss Warthog.
• Fixed an issue where some players at SR-130 did not see their specialization on their in-game playercard.
• Fixed various issues with ordnance nav markers.
• Fixed various join-in-progress issues with Flood.
• Added the ability to make weapon adjustments via backend tuning.

…Alright I’ve supported 343 and have really been behind them ever since they picked up the series…but what the hell? This is the “sandbox balancing” title update we’ve been waiting months for? This is really what I’ve been constantly checking this website for and putting my faith into 343’s dev team hoping that they would fix this game? Before you shoot this down, yeah the backend tuning is awesome, but do you not agree this is something that should have been implemented from the get-go?

I got on today to check out the X-Markers, which indeed is a much needed addition to this game. Although it shouldn’t be an addition because it was more like a subtraction to begin with…ya know? Bravo, although you didn’t get it quite right. No, I’m not going to complain about how it’s not red because quite frankly that doesn’t matter. What does matter is that it disappears way too fast. Maybe the service tag lingering makes up for it in your eyes, but it’s still not that easily noticeable. Whatever, I know it’s not going to be changed since it took almost half a year to get this implemented to begin with.

Yeah the Gauss Warthog was OP, but I really wouldn’t have minded it so much if you didn’t get Exile 9 times out of 10 when you searched in BTB. You’d think there would be a great versatility in the BTB maps considering 343/Certain Affinity spent most of their time making BTB maps. (i.e. the lack of small arena maps) And why has there been no talk of objective gametypes in BTB lately still?..Is it really that difficult to cater to the only crowd that still even plays this game? What are you doing? It’s hilarious that I’m touching on this because I am and will always be a competitive Halo player. (Labeled MLG for some of you folk out there) And if you are working on it, why have you not reminded everyone that’s been waiting, TOO LONG, lately that it’s still in the works? The waiting game has to stop, no one is going to stick around forever.

SR-130 in game player card issue. Tear, I feel sorry for you. I’m glad this is fixed.

The nav markers issue is a nice fix as well, although it’s a bit laughable that they were that way in the first place. No complaints here though again nice fix.

Fixed join-in-progress issues for Flood MM…nice. This caters to the small population that also regularly plays this playlist. See above about other pop’s that deserve more attention in title updates (BTB Objective).

The camo fix is nice as well, although this never should’ve been a balancing issue to begin with…if you would’ve balanced it before the game was shipped.

…Or simply didn’t continue Halo to be a class based shooter with armor abilities as options in a loadout. To each his own though. All I’m really trying to say is, WOW I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS THE UPDATE THAT EVERYONE WAS WAITING FOR. Also just a remider, the daily peak population on HaloCharts shows that it has officially decreased 100%+ from release day, today being the lowest since then with 31,000 people. Is it not alarming that even with todays TU that it was still the lowest population to date?..Is it not alarming?

You seemed to avoid talking about this. Do you know what this is?

…first paragraph.

Its true waht you say but hey just go with the flow and be patient they are doing everything they can. Im not surprised the TU wasnt as big as most ppl expected but what can you do? Just be patient in the meantime enjoy what little things they fixed weapon tunning isnt that faraway from being used on that dreadful DMR lol heres hoping we get an update on that soon

This is really dissapointing, I hoped to see a lot more changes. Waiting for so long on this gamechanging TU, and this is what we get? Backend tuning is good I guess, but how many weapons are that imbalanced? The X-markers suck and I don’t care about the other changes at all. This is not what I wanted in the TU.

I refuse to touch war games until I see a DMR nerf for BTB. That plus the Camo nerf would actually solve a few problems.

It’s great to see them actually do something in regards to Halo 4.

“Decreased by 100%”

The population is not 0…

The sandbox balancing comes later, now that the backend tuning is up. And it will be able to be fine tuned on a regular basis, rather than needing to wait for a new title update. This is exactly what you were worrying about, you mention it once, and then the rest of the post ignore you ever said it.

Have you tried out team Throwdown yet ? It seems like that playlist would be well suited for your play type.

I’ll only be coming back for the final achievements in this game. There are a lot of deal breakers for me. It’s bad enough that descope is gone but on top of that the DMR trumps everything in this game and it limits map movement. Camo as an AA is ridiculous. Why not give an overshield AA in Halo5… They did nothing to develop vehicle play. They actually limited it more with the gauss nerf. This on the fly weapon adjustment thing is a terrible implementation for any sandbox fixes since they don’t apply to custom games. We all thought the last TU would be sandbox fixes. We got a slight boltshot nerf and that’s it. We expected more this go around but only got a backend weapon adjustment system. That’s like expecting steak for dinner and getting an upgrade to the kitchen you didn’t need instead. I could go on and on about my disappointments, but it’s far past the point of yielding any fruitful results. I would just say congrats to 343 for putting their stamp on Halo. They have certainly done so… they have pretty graphics at least.

So do the weapon adjustments effect the settings in custom games as well as MM? Cause if not 343 are even more incompetent fools than I thought

> This on the fly weapon adjustment thing is a terrible implementation for any sandbox fixes since they don’t apply to custom games.

Well, yes and no. It’s not a global engine change, so it won’t affect anything you already have, but you can always use the matchmaking gametypes themselves and use them in customs, or edit them to be your own gametypes while retaining the balancing.

Frankly, I’d rather have it like this where they can fix something if they mess up, rather than be stuck with their changes until a new TU.

> Is it not alarming?

It is not alarming. There are like hundreds of games to play on Xbox nowadays, so people are simply playing them and they does not stick with only one title…

Exactly.

Also OP, it’s just a video game. Chill.

300,000+ was the daily peak on release and it is now to 31,000- …the population doesn’t have to be 0 for it to be a 100% decrease. And I ignore that I said it because it’s extremely disappointing that we still have to wait for balancing, and I addressed more than 1 issue. Do you not read? You remind me of the guy in the 2nd post who asked me if I even knew what this was.

They are simply playing them because this title is not enjoyable as other Halo titles in the series…why do people not understand this? Why does no one seem to pay attention to population numbers as if they just aren’t accurate? There has always been hundreds of Xbox titles on the market, but we’ve never seen a decline in Halo such as this. Maybe you should go apply for 343, it seems that they would accept your logic in their buildings.

LOL I understand this I’m just honestly pissed of that it has came to this. I would say it’s also a video game that A LOT of people play, but nowadays that would be an overstatement compared to previous times. You should head over to 343 industries and slip in an application too, it seems you are also on the same “care-level” as most of the employees there.
