So this Happened...

I finished a game of the Halo 3 Classic playlist and while I was looking at my carnage report, I started to get instantly put in another game! No intermission or anything! So I quit cause, I didn’t want to play and I’m greeted with a ban for 8 hours.

I instantly got banned for quitting. I’ve never had this problem before in ANY other game, even Halo 4. I’d get penalized cause I’d need to go to my REAL life but I never got straight up banned until Halo 5.

The banning system for this game is SUPER sensitive and it’s successfully destroyed my interest in Halo 5. My love for Halo is hanging by a thread…

I already know some mod is gonna come by, lock the thread, and say “here’s the ban thread.” I’m gonna stop em right here and say, that thread doesn’t say -Yoink- for most people. It just tells us the bare bones of what we already know, actually, its not even bare bones it’s the dust of bones.

Halo is the only game I play that still uses this “function”. It’s why I don’t play it often because, sometimes, even after being paired in a lobby before the game starts, I have to leave. Not everyone is capable of putting even 5 minutes aside to play a match because life calls sometimes. I’ve been banned plenty of times because of this, but only up to 15 minutes myself. I’m not a fan of it, especially when other games I play don’t do it, and think people should just be able to join a match in progress regardless if it’s social or ranked. Join a ranked match in progress but worry about your win or loss? Then they should make it to where you won’t win or lose or gain/lose rank in any way, but record your kills, deaths, accuracy %, pretty much anything else outside of anything going to your actual rank, including whether you’re put into a winning team or losing team. It’ll at least help those who leave matches because they realized we’re down to 3 members on a team, which then turns to 2, and eventually 1. Happened to me playing SWAT where my whole team left before we even got 15 kills even though we were only about 7 kills down. Obviously I wasn’t going to win so I left as well (no need to even keep the other team waiting) and then, boom, banned for 15 minutes. This is actually why I’m playing my PS4 a lot lately; only use the Xbone for Halo pretty much. The older you get, the more responsibilities you have that you didn’t as a kid/teen, so you can’t always allow yourself to play a game for 5 minutes straight before having to get up to do something that will take 5 minutes to finish, like changing a diaper or something. But they have never catered to people like us. Only those who can afford to spend 5+ hours to play non-stop.
