so they had a list about the playlist popularity

> - Warzone - Slayer - Team Arena - SWAT - Big Team Battle - Holiday Social - Warzone Assault - Breakout - Holiday Doubles - Free for All

this is taken straight from the latest post from 343i. im curious to know everyone’s thoughts about this.

me honestly, warzone is a bit of a mess, slayer gets boring fast, arena has too much slayer in it, swat’s spans are rigged to hell. btb i left it alone for a while, didnt like the feel to it. didnt play holiday social so i cannot say anything about it, warzone assault needs that base glitch fixed, wont play that again until its fixed. breakout is fun once in a while, doubles is good if you got a partner and don’t solo it out, and free for all isnt too bad.

I like Warzone (Actually playing only this and Warzone Assault) and I guess it’s the same for many other people (which majority isn’t on HaloWaypoint).

Lists like this are misleading. Of course a game mode that requires 24 players will be at the top of the list. Of course the game modes that need only 4 or 6 players will be at the bottom. The list should be by number-of-matches, not number-of-players.

That list is probably the same order as I prefer to play with the exception of SWAT. I would rather play Breakout then SWAT.

They fixedthe base thing awhile ago

That’s not really how popularity works. If people don’t like the 24 player game type then they won’t play it (hence WA is below so many Arena modes).

I understand what you mean and I agree, but it’s still misleading, as doubles games go by fairly quickly while Warzone ranges from 10-20 min, possibly shorter, but you see where I’m coming from.

I think it is important to note that this list is “total unique users”. This was over the holidays so there are going to be more unique users to Warzone just because of the number of the players needed for that game type. I am not trying to negate the significance that it is at the top. I am just trying to gain some perspective on it.

It looks like Warzone and REQ’s are here to stay. No matter how much fuss the traditionalists will make the change has happened.

Team Slayer Beats Team Arena WTF?

I don’t quite follow. How exactly does a higher number of players required for a match translate to higher population in the playlist?

I’d like to see both lists since in my experience Warzone games take a lot longer so I can’t play the same number of matches in one night.

It can go both ways…

8 solo people wanting to play doubles equal 2 matches. Those same 8 people will be waiting in the Warzone or BTB lobby for more players. In theory it’s easier to get a doubles match, so you’d expect a lot more of them assuming equal popularity.

i’ve seen this when i was playing mcc too. when people got to vote on game types and maps, slayer was always voted most when available. this is also true in other games like titanfall as well. slayer has always been popular with most folks.

probably, i doubt that is going to change.

I knew Doubles and Breakout were in the bottom 3 but FFA last is surprising. Like I said from the beginning, should have never had breakout and actually have 6 maps of Warzone at launch instead. I just hope they don’t make anymore Breakout maps

What? It doesn’t matter how many people fit into a game. If 24 people want to play warzone, and 26 people want to play doubles, then doubles would be higher. Cap space has nothing to do with it in that regard.

What you could have said is that people with larger amounts of friends will prefer to stick with modes where more of them can play together at once, thus making warzone and arena more popular than doubles. THEN cap space makes a difference.

Maybe that’s what you meant and I misunderstood you.

But that would be misleading too. I can get in two games of arena in the time it takes to play one game of Warzone. So all arena types would then be at the top.

warzone does take forever sometimes but if you need req points then playing arena would do you no good either.

Breakout is one of the best playlists in H5 right now, It’s probably one of the most competitive too. I really hope it replaces that sorry excuse of a cod playlist in the future. I don’t understand why people like swat at all…go play cod if you want twitch shooters. Breakout you need a solid team that can work together and actually have a strategy if you’re playing with people of the same rank. Not a lot of people play it because they get owned and quit the match

“Total UNIQUE players” is the key phrase there. What you’re suggesting would not work because you are not two unique players. Once you hit a playlist you can’t be counted again.

Disagree there. Two games in Arena is about one game of Warzone so it is almost about the same.
