We have one map coming in the Feb one and then 3 more at best? That’s just not very good. I don’t know who decided to cut 4v4 and Big Team so short, but I’d much rather pay $50 for a season pass and have a great selection of unique maps.
I don’t think more money needs to be poured into this game.

I don’t frequent Halo news very much but what ive gathered from being on the forums today is that the free updates end in June

The “free” updates end in june.
Wouldn’t doubt they add a $50 DLC pass after that. They’ll probably announce it at E3 or something.

the updates end in June and looking back on past updates we have gotten one arena, one brb, and one warzone for each update. I was REALLY hoping to get a warzone map this month and also not an assault variant of battle of noctus last month
I would hope and guess that one or more of the coming updates will drop several maps at a time. They have been slowly steeping up the quality and quantity of the updates, in my opinion.

I actually like the assault versions being a remix of the regular warzone maps. If they kept up that plan we would have a solid lineup of maps by the time the content updates finished. But not if they keep it going this slow…only one new dev map this month? That is a little bad looking. Where is the rig remix that had concept art shown off for it? Or a warzone map set on meridian or a lava based ash world?

I bet the season pass will have halo wars 2 themed content. I.e proper fitting Spartan II armour (Mark IV looks very weird in H5, just compare it to the halo wars Spartans) etc. Or at the least, a halo wars 2 themed req pack.

hmmm, not too sure about that… Tbh most if not all of the armor looks odd in Halo 5, might have something to do with the oversaturated reds and blues, lighting and oversized helmets etc. And a better shape of the armor isn’t enough to fix the issue. I think Halo 5 is the least real looking Halo game ever, in terms of its color palette…art style etc. The beta trailer for breakout looked legit, but what we got was a very stylized version not looking anything close to realism at all. It’s a good looking game in some ways, but it just doesn’t look like any previous Halo before it.
If they did do a season pass I could see it costing $30.00 max. Medium to large and extra large maps in Arena and WZ. Including more armour sets, weapon skins, REQ’s and achievements. If they did this for free they still would be criticized heavily. I say charge the season pass and toss the microtransactions if a season pass becomes available.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were to continue the updates being free for another year. That’s if they are making enough money off reqs.
The original reason that they have for making the dlc free was that they didn’t want to fracture the player base. If playlist population isn’t super high, they might just continue with free content.

I doubt that. We’re talking about the company that couldn’t convince its consumers to spend 10 dollars a few months after launch, let alone 50 half a year later. Surely they’d learn from history, right?
I just don’t see myself sticking around that long. I’m not going to spend anymore than I already have on this because I don’t see a return on that investment.
I figure since I took all the garbage bait Destiny flung at me, I will definitely be buying DLC from 343.
Went to a Destiny stream last night after watching the NA Regionals and realized why I’ll always be a Halo player.

If you had to pay for a season pass you’d end up with the exact same stuff but you’d be down $50
Season passes are bad. Dlc is better.
One is encouraging developers to purposefully leave out things that should have been there at launch and then charge you extra for them. The other tells them to make a complete game and only charge for optional features.
I don’t recall ever hearing about these free updates ending at a specific time (to be replaced by DLC). The whole reason they did free updates is they could make money off REQs and still produce maps and other content to not divide the population.
the june this has always been a legal thing. and we have no idea how many maps. they said we would get 15 maps for free, so far we have got 5 maps with a 6th one coming soon (im not counting the forge maps as its been implied that those dont count).
Also if you did pay you would then complain how the maps you did pay for never showed up or how the dlc playlist had a small population
