From what I’ve seen, it seems that the Precursors will not be involved in the story. Do you think they will be in the game or no?
I’m sure they will be, we’ve seen a demo of an early mission.
I still think they’ll be involved, maybe now as a surprise or something.
Well, considering its confirmed the new enemies are Forerunner, I would expect that the Precursors may come in at the end of Halo 5 or sometime in Halo 6.
I think its still highly likely they will be involved - Why bother focusing in them as much as 343 did in the Forerunner Saga if they werent going to have a part in Halo 4 or the next Halo games.
And we still dont know who the main enemy are - What we’ve seen are only Forerunner AI, like the Sentinels, we dont know if we are fighting actual Forerunner’s.
pretty sure that WAS a precursor that the chief fought. the description for a precursor is, a large, insect like creature with four arms and is bipedal. that seems to hit this new enemy right on the dot.

I’m thinking what you’re thinking, I would expect them to somehow involve our freaking CREATORS to have some role in the game. If not this one, maybe the next, I was just really excited to see the Precursors.
No, I think 343 may save the return of the Precursors for later in this trilogy.

Precursors are way bigger than that and organic.

Nope, they were Forerunner constructs. Did you listen to Cortana?
I bet they’ll play soem part in Halo 4, but not a major one. Just as suggested they can be “saved” for later on when the current “threat” is dealt with…
Not yet so far. That enemy was a Promethean, a Forunner warrior-class. In the last Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary terminal, the Monitor talks about the Prometheans vs. Humans or Reclaimers.
Hey, has anyone considered the possibility that the voice at the end, even though the Didact’s symbol was present, was indeed Mendicant Bias? I know someone above me mentioned it, but I think there may be more to it. The symbol was a reddish orange, and was flipped upside down. And it is speculated that Mendicant Bias was in fact, not under the influence of a Gravemind during the Forerunner-Flood War, but The Timeless One. And Mendicant Bias could have uploaded himself into the Forward Unto Dawn and remained undetected or maybe a portion of him lying dormant in Cortana.
We all know that Forerunner constructs normally have blue lights, while these constructs, which are labelled as Promethean AI’s, had the same reddish-orange color that the Didact’s symbol did. So maybe there’s corruption involved or something else entirely. Maybe its Offensive Bias controlling them and he’s gone mad. All while being under the control of the Precursors somehow.
I would not count them out just yet, we still dont know exactly what has happened, and who the voice was at the end. The enemies we see are effectively Artifical Intelligences, they arent organics and something just doesnt seem right, judging by the Sentinel we see I believe theres much more going on here. I think as the week goes on will start to learn, see more, but we wont learn exactly who the real villian behind the scenes is until the game releases. It could very likely have precursors involved.
I don’t think the Didact would kill us. I’m positive it isn’t him. It could be a trick. Maybe the Precursors are controlling the Promethean Knights, they are machines after all.
> I’m sure they will be, we’ve seen a demo of an early mission.
Eh, it’s moderately early in the game. Frankie said it is about one third through the game.
I think they may be hinted at or introduced in Halo 4 but they’ll be reserved for Halo 5 and/or Halo 6.
We already have new enemies, weapons, vehicles, environments, back story to catch up with etc that the precursors have plenty of time to make their way into the reclaimer trilogy.
Theres a difference between being a Promethean warrior, and being what these things were,. They were for the most part bipedal/humanoid sentinel’s that seemed somehow to be more like vessels to me, perhaps there is corruption involved, and its very possible these things were once forerunners themselves. If the Precursors were capable of creating The Flood, and are suspected of using Neurologic Warfare, Creation, in most aspects, then its very possible they could influence forerunner technology as we see here. Perhaps the glowing red does indeed hint to us that something is very wrong. I just dont see forerunners who were true to the path they chose for themselves reactivating a Artifact like Requiem and beginning to wage war against Humanity or other species without more of a clear reason.
Is it possible the original Didact, or Mendicant Bias is reponsible for what we got a glimpse of? Always, but after reading the books, and other material involving the Forerunners, Precurors and there own history, I just believe the Precurors have more motive for creating true Chaos.
