So according to Halopedian the Type-55 Directed Energy Rifle/Advanced aka the Storm Rifle is the Post-war successor to the Type-25 Directed Energy Rifle aka Plasma Rifle and Type-51 Directed Energy Rifle/Improved aka the Plasma Repeater.
So this possibly means the we will no longer see the classic Plasma Rifle anymore.
How do you feel about this?
Personally I don’t mind too much. While I might miss the Plasma Rifle a bit the Storm Rifle does look badass.
The removal does bother me, but not that much. So much for continuing the traditional Plasma Rifle burst followed by a quick melee. Oh well, bring on the Storm Rifle.
I am sad to see the Plasma Rifle go, see as it’s a classic Halo weapon. However, the storm rifle looks to be a worthy successor. The only problem I have is its close resemblance to the carbine. Most of my friends though the SR was the Carbine until I showed them otherwise.

I remember the plasma rifle having a muzzle velocity of 126 m/s. More or less, the same speed as in game. Spartan reflexes have nothing to do with it being slow, its just stereotypical sci-fi plasma speed.

In real life it would be like that. Plasma firing from a gun like that is essentially a super heated cloud and obviously no matter how hot, a cloud does not move very fast. Your probably thinking of a laser gun, a laser blast would be faster than a kinetic projectile obviously because a laser is just super hot light, and light is extremely fast.
