Is it just one big excavator or something then?
Not sure, its deffinatly organic though.
Sounds like either a Didact or Flood “People Gatherer”
Is The Didact heading to New Phoenix with it, them…Run Away…
Maybe a new Scarab? I don’t know.
Im guessing its what replaced the scarab. I don’t know about its fire power, but it looks like it can carry large number of ground troops. looks really bad -Yoink-.
The Harvester was kind of unsettling.
The Spartan-IVs missing, the organic looking Harvester being the center-point of all the IFF tags…kind of creepy if you ask me.
Unless I was too tired and I missed what actually happened to the Spartan-IVs on that mission.
It looks like a giant mutated gerbil.
Spoilers please.
Well the covies were digging, again!
> Well the covies were digging, again!
True without seeing it in action we can’t really tell its purpose or anything from it.
No obvious signs of weaponry, looks semi-permanent in location and less mobile. It’s a heck of a lot bigger than a Scarab, and looks more suited for digging and mining than fighting. Still, I reckon we’ll be sent back to it because the covenant will find a way to repair it. Then I’m sure we’ll find out what it can do. Personally, I’d ask Palmer why Infinity cant send a MAC round or 2 into it, but meh, i guess thats too easy lol.
Looks like a mass troop transit/mobile fortress, could theoretically have a plasma-based excavator similar to the glassing cannons on warships.
What worries me is the stolen nukes.
I don’t know, but I was ripped off when it was confirmed not to be Flood and didn’t move during the entire mission…
> I don’t know, but I was ripped off when it was confirmed not to be Flood and didn’t move during the entire mission…
You were ripped off by rumors which were pure conjecture and had no physical evidence to support them?
That’s a shame.
It was such an awesome sight to see. I spend a few minutes just observing it. I eventually ran to my brother saying: “You’ve got to see this, it’s the most awesome vehicle what I have ever seen in Halo!” Yeah, I was pretty excited.
That Harvester scared the -Yoink!- out of me.
Very creepy, I wonder if it’s going to make a return?
The Harvester was a great sight to see, I wonder what it is harvesting.
Giant -Yoink- scarab/mobile transport that poops excavation grade plasma…,
Better mildly damage it…,
Lets piece this together:
-Its called a “Harvester”
–Probably means it has something to do with production
—Which explains the giant closed “mouth” like thing
—Explains the lack of visible weapons
—The covenant “deployed” it to excavate an “artifact”
----Probably because it digs
-----Means its most likely used to locate suitable areas to mine for resources,
then extract said resources
-Infinity doesn’t want it on
–Either the “Harvesting” process may cause injury to fireteam crimson, or Palmer
just likes -Yoink!- the Covies off
–Our job description is literally “Turn on and off all mysterious alien
technologies we encounter”
—We do it every mission!
–Its a giant covenant thing! Who wants that on anyways?
-The UNSC has never seen one before
–They have to give us 48 hour notice before deploying new equipment, and acquire a permit!
–Must be expensive! Now we really have to break it on them!
That is my analysis on the “Harvester”. Based off this data we can safely conclude we acted on rule 93 in the UNSC handbook… “Piss off the Covies be playing with all their Toys”.
> -The UNSC has never seen one before
Doubtful, they knew it by name and weren’t all surprised by it being there.
