Soo I know many of the Halo players out there might not have noticed it, but in Reach the Ghost lost a lot of texture, and essentially became a dull purple vehicle of meh, that simply stood in to prove how overpowered armor lock could be.
Halo CE
Halo 2
Halo 3
And finally, Halo Reach
As you can see, there’s a huge loss of texture between Halo 2/3 and Halo Reach, and I’m just looking to make sure that we don’t return to that one solid color, overly opaque and dull ghost. Through google I found this image that claims to have been from Halo 4.
Halo 4 Ghost
It doesn’t look bad
I like it, but if it looks anything like the one from Reach in game… e.e
Also, here’s some cool facts about Ghosts that you might not know

Discuss?
Edit: I like the color of this Ghost, however other than some minor grid-like decals, it’s much different than say, the Halo 2 Ghost with its textures :l It felt a lot more personalized… like it had a Halo flavor rather than just oh. Ha. A flat purple vehicle that can burst forward.
I like the new Halo 4 ghost. It looks nice.
The Halo 4 ghost is -Yoink!-. Can’t wait to hit people with the front of it.
> The Halo 4 ghost is -Yoink!-. Can’t wait to hit people with the front of it.
Ha I know right?
It looks amazing. I’m just hoping that’s what it looks like ingame ^-^
Looks horrible. Wish it was purple again.
Eurgh that looks horrible.
The Halo 2 Ghost looked the best, it was just perfect and felt good.
> The Halo 4 ghost is -Yoink!-. Can’t wait to hit people with the front of it.
Just hope the hardlight shield doesn’t get in the way of things like with armour lock in Reach. Then the ghost will be worth using again. In Reach, it’s usually just left there because people are in fear of armour lock. It was useless in Reach.
Oh and has anyone noticed how phantoms, banshees, ghosts, ect. all have green plasma to boost the vehicle instead of purple? Like here’s an example.

I thought the Hard Light shield was like the the Bubble Shield in that non-projectiles can pass through it?
I will agree that Halo 3’s Ghost looked infinitely better than Reach’s. Then again, everything with any “Halo” feel probably looked better with Halo 3’s colors and lighting.
That’s not to say that Halo Reach’s looked bad. As for part of the reason it sucked, there’s a huge amount of possible reasons. The Ghost was changed significantly–it became much more manueverable and a boost that felt weaker (not sure if it actually is) as well as a boost meter. Come on, a vehicle that gets all it’s kills from splatters, and they introduce a boost meter?? Also, has anyone else noticed that splatter system sucks in Reach? I can run over your toes at 2 mph with a tank and you’ll die, but getting hit full on by a speeding Ghost, psh, you’re just going to bounce to the side and DMR that sucker.

Canonically, the hardlight shield is the strongest substance in the Halo universe, so it should be able to absorb most of the pressure of an impact with the only effect of the spartan being forced backwards. For Multiplayer I’d fancy the hardlight shield to absorb only minor vehicle momentum. It could defend itself if deployed and focused accurately on the oncoming vehicle and the spartan would survive impacts like a frontal collision of a mongoose or a very slow collision with a non-boosting ghost. Against larger objects moving at faster speeds you’d be a goner, no chance of surviving that. Thoughts?

sounds goodto me and i love the look of the new ghosts cant wait to see enemy blood splatterd on it
I’m really digging the new color of the halo 4 ghost.
You’re joking right? It feels like you are just trolling reach for the Yoink of it…
Looks really good in my opinion.
Most covi vehicles and weapons in Halo 4 are now dark purple with a tone of black.
The bright purple happy rainbow covis are gone

And that’s good, I love the way the Carbine and the Storm Rifle looks.

I definitely noticed this, after a couple days I completely gave up on the Ghost… I use it only for quick transportation and if I see an enemy I shoot at them from a distance. If I see two people I just assume that between the two of them and four grenades I Might get a kill. Mongoose splatters were fun in Halo 3, in Reach they really are impossible.

Nope.
Look at Halo 2, and then at Reach. Which one looks like it’s been in a war? Which one looks more appealing? The dull, all one color Reach Ghost or the defined and seemingly scratched up Halo 2 one?
I think the halo 4 one looks nice. Good sleek design and a sorta indigo color.
The Ghost is…BLUE! IT’S MIDNIGHT BLUE! How cool is that?
