So the game looks awesome but...

I personally have been pretty sceptical up to this point, I still have some worries and what not, but I really liked what I saw.

-The game appears to be more gorey

-Bleed through looks like it’s back?

-The new weapons look awesome, I also like the new enemies

-The jump height/distance and player movement speed looks great and seems to be like the original Halo’s.

-The visuals look stunning, the lightning looks great (Halo has always suffered in this department) and the audio sounds amazing and immersive

-It looks like we could see some pretty hectic combat with the way things look at the moment

But!..

I’m really not keen on the way the medals look, and the announcer sounds a little, awkward, and somewhat boring?

The alerts for achieving things like “Headshot” appear in the middle of the screen and look pretty distracting, I don’t think it’s necessary to have this in the game to be honest.

The warthog also appeared to die to one grenade too, does this mean vehicles are like Reaches cardboard vehicles, or are the grenades just extremely efficient? Perhaps the Warthog is susceptible to a well placed grenade under it’s fuel tank?

I am really looking forward to this evenings Multiplayer information, what are other peoples opinions? What would you like to see?

I personally hope we get a skill based ranking system.

Okay firstly, those medals look like placeholders

Secondly, that vehicle may have been battered before it was destroyed.

And yet theyre still boring and uninspired.

Yeah I also thought about that, I hope that is the case, because it will be really disappointing to see that vehicles are easily killed like in Reach.

Either the player had been weakened, or the vehicle had gone through some battles prior to the grenade or both. We can’t really draw any conclusions based on a 10 second clip.

More gameplay is needed.

Do you know what time will get new info, and at what site i can see e3?

If you look closely there were 2 or 3 grenades being tossed at the WardHog + it did have damage already. IDK thats what i saw

8.00 pm GMT, I haven’t got a clue which site, but I’ll find it

> If you look closely there were 2 or 3 grenades being tossed at the WardHog + it did have damage already. IDK thats what i saw

Is that definitely another grenade explosion? Or is that just part of the explosion for the Warthog itself? If it is another grenade explosion, then that is good news.

Thank you

> The alerts for achieving things like “Headshot” appear in the middle of the screen and look pretty distracting, I don’t think it’s necessary to have this in the game to be honest.

The worst part is there’s even an announcement for ‘Kill’ it really is so unnecessary and does nothing but get in the way… I hope there’s an option to turn it off or something.

> -The game appears to be more gorey

In what way does it look more Gorey?

> -The jump height/distance and player movement speed looks great and seems to be like the original Halo’s.

Halo Reach’s Beta had movement speed and jump height equal to Halo 1’s: Slow and low respectively. Halo Reach itself has Halo 2’s movement speed and a slight lower (in relation to Halo 2) jump height. The “High speed and high jump height” people seem to love and you are referring to only came with Halo 3.

> I’m really not keen on the way the medals look, and the announcer sounds a little, awkward, and somewhat boring?

I personally don’t see anything wrong with the medals, and the announcer is still Jeff Steitzer, so I don’t see how it could be any different, but that’s me.

> The warthog also appeared to die to one grenade too, does this mean vehicles are like Reaches cardboard vehicles, or are the grenades just extremely efficient? Perhaps the Warthog is susceptible to a well placed grenade under it’s fuel tank?

The guy who through the grenade didn’t get the kill. At least 3 people were attacking the Warthog in that clip, and it’s very possible that it had already suffered damage by the time the one player through the grenade. That clip isn’t the best source to judge vehicle durability.

> I personally hope we get a skill based ranking system.

We won’t. It seem pretty definite at this point that no skill based system will be involved in whatever ranking system 343 uses (something I’m happy to see). However, Trueskill will be working in the background to ensure quality matches.

As soon as the First Grenade blows the ward hog catches air then when another grenade exploded that caused it to blow up. You can only see the other grenades at the last moment.

Warthogs dieing by one grenade. No, you have to think. Is this something they would do in Halo? I’m pretty sure that Warthog was prepped for the footage. It was already damaged.

I don’t know about he worthog being weakened, but there were at least 2 grenades tossed at it.
Also in how many hours does the e3 halo 4 info start today?

> Thank you

I may actually be wrong now… I don’t know if it’s meant to be at 8.00pm GMT or 8.00pm EST, sigh

Reach was more gorey than all the other Halo games anyway. I think they tried to make Halo 4 more real life when the warthog exploded with 1 grenade my car would’ve exploded with 1 grenade but that’s just my opinion.

Do you know what the word ‘placeholder’ means?

whatever i live in Europe…

There were at least 2 grenades thrown at the Warthog in that clip, with at least 3 players attacking it. In addition, the player from whom’s point of view we are viewing only got an assist, and the warthog was likely already damaged. Just food for thought.
