If you follow Brav on Twitter, you will see that he stated that the aiming will be fixed in the BTB patch. Let’s see just what is fixed about it. Personally I don’t think its going to do any good for most people, since 343i still seems to think that the problem is with certain controllers. Hell, I have 4 V1 controllers and the aiming is horrid on all 4 of them. Then my dad, and a couple of friends have the V2 controllers with the audio jack, and those have the same problems.
Looks like December, when they release the patch to adjust the sensitivity curves and dead zones will be the one that fixes all of our problems, but we will see.
I got the Spartan Locke controller and that has the audio jack I guess, but I haven’t really seen any issues with aiming at all. Are they going to change how aiming is in general or just that specific bug?

It has to do with the “pegged” state. Basically, at times, the controller will be moved all the way in a direction, but the game thinks it’s only moving a fraction of the way over. That’s the quick explanation. Makes snap turning and aim compensation on moving targets difficult, to say the least.
Since it’s coming out so quick, I think it is just the different turning speeds when aiming diagonally. I don’t think that Turn Acceleration and Deadzone will even be addressed until the December update, and those 2 issues are the big ones for me.
I don’t have trouble aiming in MCC or other games. The main problem for me is the aim acceleration, I’m not going to buy a $150 controller that can be adjusted to compensate for one of the worst aiming systems any fps has ever had.

I have maintained that is the reason that the aiming was changed. I was always going to get the Elite Controller, but since I can’t find one anywhere it pisses me off that it’s the only solution to the problem.
It kind of puts the writing on the wall when 343 says “we will eventually make all of those Elite Controller settings available to Halo 5 players”.
Yea the game is fun, def one of the best Halos to date. You would’ve thought this most recent controller update would fix it…but nope! I guess our K/Ds will suffer a bit until December. Def never would’ve thought a $150 controller would sell out so I guess we can sit on the bench and wait for that too

Yea, it’s odd. My biggest problem is the dead zone in the right stick. I’ve seen the thread that was going for a long time about the dead zone test, and how it was a little larger in H5 than in other games. But I don’t know if it’s more noticeable to me now that there is little to no aim assist, or if it’s something else.
343 says that aiming at close range is the hurdle to get past, but close range is the only way I can get a Kill most of the time. And that’s spraying and praying with the AR. Mid to Long range is where my problems get the best of me, since I can’t move the stick just a little bit to stay on target, because I’m stuck in the dead zone, and the aim isn’t moving. So then I push the stick a little further to compensate, and then I’m in the turning portion of the aiming and over shooting my target. Just an extremely frustrating thing to deal with.
