So the AI/Campaign changes are great 'n all...

But it’s irrelevant to people who have already completed the campaign. Which brings me to the point of this thread, something I wonder why 343 hasn’t done this yet, something that would have been cool from launch: Once you complete the campaign (maybe even do it on Legendary) if you replay it solo, you should get the option of who you play as. Locke is boring, playing as him is boring. I already know the (short) story, so why can’t I play it again as Buck, or Vale in Osiris missions? Chief on the other hand, I love, but this is the first time Blue Team has been in a Halo game, and it would be cool to play as them without being forced to play co-op. This could not possibly be difficult for 343, there’s a character selection in co-op; add it to solo!

Yeh, I am dying to play as Fred solo without having to get around playing together with friends.

Indeed, I would go as Vale and Fred through almost every mission because they’ve got my favorite weapons (SMG and DMR)!

The AI changes are present in Firefight as well. Most obvious is the fact that covenant species, especially jackals and grunts, have received a buff that makes them highly competitive.

I don’t get this… you say playing as Locke is boring but want to play as Buck… you realize that no matter which Spartan you play has you have the same abilities so why would playing as one particular Spartan be any different?

Armor and visor aesthetics? Different weapons? The small perk that each spartan has? Just like for the character?

Plenty of good reasons.

How about we can play the game with time attack or scoring mode on? that would be better then picking your guy IMO and the improvements to the AI is good I think. It also affect other game modes as well, like Fightfight.

Have they put out that update for the AI yet?

Armor and aesthetics? It’s a fps you can’t even see yourself very much. Every Spartan can use the same weapons. I guess if they added some good perks possibly that may make a difference. It really is just more of a mental thing of playing a certain character and nothing more. I wouldn’t mind playing as more Spartans but make the missions more solo and less “team” based. I don’t see friendly AI ever being good enough to be useful.

I also think they need to bring scoring to the campaign. It makes it replayable and self-competitive. At least for me. The scoring system in MCC was beautiful, I would love something like that to become standard in Halo games. It was pre-4…

This.

That would also be nice, along with achievements for them.

Great idea! I also think adding Reach-style challenges would give much more incentive to replay the campaign.
