Ready up live pointed it out on their video. Looks like a brute plasma rifle but it would be hell of cool if we get the plasma rifle back. It was an iconic weapon for the covenant.

It’s a Brute Plasma Rifle, I kind of wished they’d bring the regular Plasma Rifle back, I’m not hating on the Brute Plasma Rifle is just that the Red one has Rapid Fire on it & it overheats twice as faster than than the standard plasma rifle & you could run out of plasma energy pretty quick which I didn’t like about it, but the original plasma rifle was great because you didn’t have to burst fire it as much & it had great accuracy which I liked about the original plasma rifle.
I could start arguing about redundancy, but anything I could possibly say would be ignored in favor of nostalgia-service.
Maybe they’re bringing the og and the brute back. Weapon variants are a common theme in this game after all.
Still would rather have the Brute Shot with an EMP tier two version or something like the nade launcher

If it fires slower but more precise and doesn’t overheat as fast as the Storm Rifle it would have its own little niche.
