So that new mantis...

I don’t know how I feel when I read this “While the overall armor is not as high as an ONI Mantis” in the cannon fodder I know it has faster shield recharge and more anti vehicle ability but I feel like the mantis needs to be able to take more damage not deal more at its current state. Thoughts?

I think it should’ve had inti-infantry missiles (like on the ONI mantis), stronger shields, more health and be able to shoot HEDP rounds

The thing’s a powerhouse with it’s weaponry. They made it have less armor since they knew that people would run straight into battle with the Gauss Repeater and (whatever the rockets were upgraded to).

well its a legendary req intended for use in a playlists where everything uncommon and up is overpowered so I don’t really like to see them hold back. I would like to see them take a tank, mantis, or something and just make it so stupidly overpowered that just seeing one would make the entire team run back into there core and hide like rabbits even when they have three bases capped and are winning by six hundred points.

The mantis in Warzone is a glorified death trap, but canon wise it could change the tide of battle. It just needs a nerf to make it a -Bleep-Ing tank and people might get hyped when you get one. I have 13 mantises and won’t use them they are not worth 7-8 Req’s

Love judgement before you use it.

I honestly hate the stomping mechanism cos I cant do jack with it’s tiny radius and can’t shoot with its pathetic accuracy. I hate watching anyone use one because they always go down so easily, even though its req lvl 6

This mantis is more of an attack and retreat mantis, you have to quickly strike and then leave, the ONI vehicles are designed to take a major beating, this one is more of a support vehicle, if your teamates are being wrecked by a scorpion, EMP it and help them destroy it.

You didn’t even read the first sentence did you, I wasn’t even judging it I was just starting a discussion based off of its talked about stats

I know this is off topic, but that Hannibal scorpion though.

But you have judged it under armoured. You’ve placed yourself on a side, not within neutrality.

We have heard it can do more damage overall and can re-engage quicker than a default Mantis. It might be able to take a Scorpion shot directly without being exactly near death/dead… And that is where we will likely judge it.

But we cannot feel it within gameplay so we cannot say.

The mantis needs a slight armor buff.

You’d think the Mantis, originally designed for lifting cargo and such, being used as a weapon, long after it’s initial use on the Infinity and other places in Halo 4… they would really upgrade the pathetically weak armour, unless the UNSC have made budget cuts so all vehicles are weak (unless they’re ONI grade).

The damn thing has a rapid fire gauss cannons and cluster missiles!
Edit: AND a EMP stomp!

Too bad that because it’s lacking ONI grade armour it’ll just be taken out in seconds by kinetic bolt weapons. Or worse, a Spartan will run out from no where and instantly board it from the front. In all my experiences with a Mantis and any vehicle, if it isn’t ONI grade, then it’s bound to die in seconds from small arms weapons equipped with kinetic bolts…

For Mantis to become a truly viable vehicle I firmly believe that it should be unmountable. This goes for tank-type vehicles too. Sure spartans are strong, but not so strong that they can beat a tank to pieces by pure force. Hijacking vehicles like ghosts, banshees, mongoose and warthogs is completely fine though.

Yep, that was me in a Mantis on Saturday. I only managed to get a few kills. The Mantis is far from it’s former glory. I cried a little on the inside. If I do ever get my hands on the ONI Mantis, or the Hannibal Mantis, I hope it’s comparable to the old Mantis.

You forgot that it will probly get splattered by a wraith boost

Personally, ANY boost the mantis can get sounds great to me. Sure, I don’t like the idea of it having less overall armor than the ONI mantis, but, who knows, the added firepower may make it worth it!

Normally I jump on people who are like that, but OP didn’t say anything about the new mantis sucking, he offered a well educated question to be discussed based off other vehicles of the same variety. Save up your anti troll posts for the people who are saying ‘firefight sucks’ without any real reasoning.
