So that DLC I paid for, where is it?

Another topic on the Gametype reformation. I bought the Defiant Map pack and the Noble, and now I don’t have a dedicated playlist for them. (NOTE: I’ve had the map packs since they were released) I was more than happy to see you thin out the playlists, yet you keep the really bad ones like, Team Snipers and Super Slayer, you get rid of Squad DLC and Action sack.

You could of at least made a poll on these very forums and let us, you know your customers decide which gametypes to keep and which to scrap.

This really, REALLY irratates and upsets me. So if I want to play on the maps I bought to help fund a series I’m so in love with, I have to find and make 12 friends, then get the slightest chance of playing the maps.

This isn’t the best of ways to persuade me to buy Halo 4 brand new, or keep my faith in 343 at all.

/rant over.

i completely agree!

I am obliged to agree.

“Bad ones” to you. To many others, those are the good ones and Action Sack and Squad DLC were “the bad ones.”

Except the forums are a very small percentage of the population as a whole and frankly, we in no way have enough information to make that decision. 343 gets to see the back end stats and knows far more about their playlists than we ever do or will.

We are the population who come on these forums, and talk about the game, what we’re enjoying and what we’re not. The people that either can’t be bothered or don’t want to, shouldn’t have much of a say in the matter, if they don’t like something, why shouldn’t they sign up?

Statistics are just numbers, opinions are alot more. Also, why couldn’t 343 drop a message on the loading screen informing us they were considering changing/removing gametypes? that would encourage more people to come on the forums and participate.

My love for Halo and owning the rookies won’t change. My faith in the owner has.

I see. Good thing that’s not how it works then, isn’t it? The game is for EVERYONE, not just those who have enough free time (and the ability) to sign onto the forums and make 6 posts then claim they are entitled to more than those that “just” play the game.

I agree completely with the topic starter. This is ridiculous! I’m very annoyed 343 made this BAD choice … Im feeling like ‘pumpkin’ in Annoying Orange right now:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD8iKySRLX8 with Orange representing 343.

Out of nowhere you delete Anniversary BTB it had decent players most of the time. There’s no more downloads playlists. You already ruined it with Squad downloads 'nd now you completely deleted it.

I’ve buyed 3 downloadables for Reach, better maps than the original. Bring me back my money = playlists!

This 23 years old young man, is seriously pissed of.
343 I dare you to reply

I play squad DLC and i dont have any other playlist to play i would play anniversary big team battle or anniversary FFA but they were also removed so im stuck with all these stupid playists that are getting old, i should play invasion but these stupid forge maps are freakin terrible. I hope they return squad DLC : D

I can see the point of both sides of the discussion but these are facts:

  1. People DO want to play Noble and Defiant in its own playlist (i myself am also wondering why i spent $ on these mappacks & without a dedicated playlist i am NEVER able to play them in multiplayer matchmaking)

  2. Squad Slayer and Action Sack were both fun and enjoyably playlists. Ive heard they werent played enough but everytime i got on and jumped into either one of those playlists i didnt have to wait maybe 20 seconds b4 i was in a match lobby so people have to be playing them

  3. JUST LEAVE THE GAME ALONE FOR GOODNESS SAKE! Im losing faith fast in Halo 4 if this is the kind of thing we can expect from its multiplayer platform: Mappacks purchased in vain, playlists CONSTANTLY removed or made to be crap.

I just dont understand these constant updates. It gets old and annoying after awhile because you dont even know what to expect the next time you boot up Reach. Is your favorite playlist going to be gone for no apparent reason? The answer to this question is WAY too often YES. Come on 343 seriously?

Nice to see people have similar ideals. Now don’t get me wrong, i’m all for fixing the games numerous exploits and such, but this was a pretty strong hit. Also, I just noticed Anniv BTB has gone. I am truly devastated.

For the past few weeks I’ve played Anniversary bts, since I bought the dlc. Sure I’ve had a few times lag problems, but you get that in any playlist, and didn’t had to way to much in searching players menu… Really disappointed, 343 destroyed infection game type with all those stupid maps, now they deleted the map pack playlists that I bought just a month ago. If 343 doesn’t read our feedback from this website then why is this running? I’m not satisfied how they are handling the community, and probably not buy halo 4 if it goes on. My opinion may not matter much, but I’m just sharing my view anyway… and slowly they might loose a few halo fans, who knows.

I bought both DLC packs on release and have barely found them in matchmaking since. 343i REALLY NEEDS to put in a dedicated playlist for Noble map pack and Defiant map pack in seperate hoppers so you don’t need both to play on either playlist.

For example:

DLC:

Noble Map Pack
Defiant Map Pack

Simples

I remember when I got defiant map pack, at the begging it used to have a good playlist. People alway chosed invasion on breakpoint, SO MUCH FUN!

I don’t have too much of a problem with the playlist thinning (though I liked Anniv’ BTB). My problem is that the DLC maps come up very rarely in any playlist that wasn’t dedicated to them.

I’ve still never had the chance to play Condemned/Infection for the last achievement I need. Reach will be the only Halo game that I didn’t 100% because of 343i’s poor achievement creation and matchmaking implementation.

It’s going to be really hard to find the DLC maps in playlists. There really needs to be a search preference with “DLC” player so they will show up. I personally am not a fan of any of the base Reach maps. DLC and Community Maps are the only ones I can enjoy playing. Now there goes half my map selection.

Is there a reason why 343 couldn’t just make it so you had a 100% chance of encountering other users with DLC? I mean they said that made it so other players had a chance of encountering others with the DLC. I don’t see why they couldn’t make it absolute.

You honestly think 343 cares? They don’t care that you wasted your hard earn money on their DLC. For all we know they are probably making “money angels” on the floor with our hard earn money.

At the end of the update message 343 states: ‘see you on the virtual battleground’. Well … ‘here we are’. Our common bullit hits its target, 343’s poor judgement.

We like our amazing maps back: you guys should be more carefull with you supporters. We are the ones who bought your mappacks en remake. Where’s your sense of pride,

Keep the spirit alive,

343 has screwed all of us over, it’s good to see some other people are as outraged as I am. Regardless of how many people were in the Squad DLC playlist, they should still have added some sort of DLC playlist for those of us who wasted our money on something we can no longer play. (yes I realize the maps do appear rarely, and even when they do appear they are almost always vetoed) It’s not like keeping a somewhat empty playlist would have caused any negative experience, so why remove it?

The person who started this thread is a HERO! Iv played every halo there is and bought every map pack and its the same in every halo, nothing but pure robbery. At least bungie made the effort to keep them in some playlists. As it stands 343 “DESTROYED” reach. Call of duty has core and hardcore, halo has social and ranked/arena. 343 came along and changed the core rules of the game completely than changed some back lol its a sham. Its the only shooter with 3 core rules, Anniversary (go buy halo 1 if thats what you want to play), T.U, and its original core rules. Seriously? WTF! And now they get rid of some of the only decent playlists left with real maps in them. I say real because big team is a joke seriously nothing but fan made community maps (they all look the damn same). If any of 343’s work on reach reflects into halo 4 good luck to a dieing franchise. Im so angry i actually came to this site for the first time to voice my opinion on it lol and long and behold others beat me to it. You can play any of the other 2 top shooters (Gears/MW3) and you get to actually play the maps you paid for, cheers for that epic/infinity ward :).
No ones asking for a dedicated playlist for them but at least keep them in for god sake. “Highlands” for example 343 made the map and its not in any of the PATHETIC playlist left behind. BAD DARTS 343 bring back squad! It beats playing nothing but forge world.
