So, Spartan V?

That Spartan on the Halo 5 : Guardians art that we’ve all seen. You know, right above Chief? Let me jog your memory:
This one.
He even seems to be of similar stature as shown by our friend, HaloFollower, at around 2:18.

Gotta give credit where it’s due.

So, I certainly think this is plausible. I thought this guy’s fan theory was great and I wanted to share it here.

You know, I didn’t even think of that. The first and last Spartan V. Adding that layer of specialty that would make him a legitimately unique character.

> You know, I didn’t even think of that. The first and last Spartan V. Adding that layer of specialty that would make him a legitimately unique character.

I wonder what sets him apart from the Spartan IVs though, given that the IVs were rather recent and pumped out quick in comparison to the SIIs and SIIIs. Maybe this Spartan is a IV, but like the one man equivalent to Noble Team.

That’s the best I can put it. He’s definitely a special character in a way, and I find it very interesting that he’s not bulky or even looks as intimidating as the Chief. 343i is definitely going for something different here.

Wow…

Take all that HaloFollower says with a grain of salt. His videos are rarely accurate with the canon. This one is not an exception.

Thanks for the advice, but we’re not really discussing anything HaloFollower said here. He showed us the picture of the Chief and the other spartan, and I don’t think that really warrants a whole lot of doubt. It was just an interesting point.

What we are discussing is just speculation and fan theory I saw on Reddit.

What support is there for this idea besides one’s own creativity? You might as well try to guess his name and age.

Except that the comparison he makes between their height is inaccurate. Try doing it yourself in an image editing program, the only way Chief is the same height as the new Spartan is if 343i decides to give Chief really long legs in this iteration. Chief is obviously made to be smaller than he usually would be in this image, since he’s just a reflection in the water. If Chief were at a proper scale he would probably be taller than the other Spartan.

But even if he isn’t, that doesn’t meant this is a new Spartan Program. Hoya and Demarco are a mere two centimeters shorter than Chief, a Spartan IV could definitely match him in height.

It wouldn’t really make sense for ONI to create a Spartan V program right now, especially not one similar to the Spartan II program like the theory says. The whole point of the Spartan IV program was that using children was wrong, even if it was more effective. Neither of the two people in charge of ONI recently would ever authorize a program that used anyone but consenting adults.

I don’t see the evidence for this. All there really is in the theory you linked to is speculation built on hypotheticals, nothing concrete.

Nor would ONI want to create a new Spartan project when the one that they’re currently using is working perfectly.

Ah HaloFollower, it’s like the Fox News of Halo news. It’s just rampant speculation.

It’s gotta be true. HaloFollower knows his stuff.

It wouldn’t make sense for them to make a new class of spartan. Their class is usually named by how they were augmented.

I- Unknown to me.

II- Specific genetics with augmentations known to have a good chance of either killing the patient or physically disable the patient. Less likely to get results.

III- Better enhancements than IIs. Didn’t need specific genetics to survive augmentation. Didn’t receive mjolnir armor due to costs. Mass produced to simply “zerg” heavily armed targets.

IV- Better enhancements that can alter a human at any age. UNSC requires Highly decorated Marines and ODSTs to apply. Given Gen.2 power armor thanks to Forerunner technology being easier to produce.

At this point, a V is highly unlikely. Unless cloning becomes better, I doubt they would have a new method of making a spartan, and that is depending on how big of a gap the time it takes between Halo 4 and 5.

Plus, you shouldn’t take Halofollower seriously. Its all speculation.

I in all honesty think this may be Noble Six. Why? He is dead? Well, what if he isn’t?

In the end of Halo: Reach, we see Six remove the helmet and take out as many covenant as possible before being overwhelmed, right? We did see that. But after that cutscene of his death, We see Reach in 2589. 37 years into the future. The helmet remains, but where is the body armor? Sure, A human body can decay, but I don’t think the armor would decay with him. Not if the helmet can survive. And the helmet after all on every spartan is really useless without shields, still being a one shot kill in the head no matter what.

And remember what Halsey told Noble Team? “You work for ONI now.” And what does this Spartan have on his chest plate? An ONI symbol. This Spartan’s helmet heavily resembles that of the Mark V variant in Halo: Reach, but if you look at the chest plate, it can almost resemble the default chest plate from Reach, just made to be more into the future with tech and mobility etc. I feel like it is Noble Six to be honest. That is just my speculation about it.

> I in all honesty think this may be Noble Six. Why? He is dead? Well, what if he isn’t?

He is. He’s been confirmed dead by Bungie and 343 Industries. The Spartan is already confirmed to be a new character anyway.

Noble Six is dead. That is 100% confirmed.

> Where is his body armor in the last cutscene? Behind the camera. His helmet wasn’t right next to the body, he dropped it a little ways away and then got overwhelmed.

> Ah HaloFollower, it’s like the Fox News of Halo news. It’s just rampant speculation.

Nah, more like CNN.

That is an interesting hero, but I do not think it’s a Sparta-V. It seems more reasonable to pick the best Spartan-IV and then train him and give him the best equipment.

EXACTLY!

I definitely don’t think that Spartan-Vs are a thing since there is no reason for them. Each “breed” of Spartan exists for a reason. There are still plenty of Spartan-IVs. I have a whole theory on him, but suffice it to say that I think he isn’t like other Spartan-IVs. Maybe he’s not technically one, but they wouldn’t just make a single Spartan-V.

So much this. Just listening to Halo Follower is aggravating. He can’t talk straight and many times his sentences make little sense or have little point to them.
