So some retailers are selling helmets?!

i really dont understand what going with all this Pre-order bonuse its really getting out of hand.some even come the specializations …this is maddness…the whole time i was thinking you only get a skin now its helmets -_- im lostsause

I thought they were adding only the skins, and not actual armor. I am now officially puzzled.

Wow that sucks

I have no idea where the info is coming from on that page you linked. The retailer specific pre-order bonuses were all armor and weapon skins as far as I knew. The limited edition comes with early access to some of the specializations and a season pass. The season pass for dlc comes with 2 helmets and the console bundle has an armor set. Unless they changed it which would be strange since so many have already pre ordered.

It really annoys me as well. I can understand one or two options, but there are a good 8 options, and some stores mix and match them differently. This is ridiculous. They are all attractive items as well, I would gladly pay money to get some of them as DLC.

That link was in an email I received this morning.

Ughh goddammit i really wanted that Deadeye helmet =(

Some places are selling the helmets, other places the skins, so it looks as if it’s just a head start to the helmet, it’d be unlockable for everybody by actually playing it. I’m just glad I pre-ordered from best-buy, they have Deadeye.

I pre-ordered there too. high five

This is a huge mess.

So in order to get to a point where you can play Halo 4 online you need;

Xbox 360
Xbox Live
Internet Connection
Halo 4

…and THEN you can buy extra armors and skins. Oh and if if you want an app thats some more money, and map packs in the future. Ridiculous.

Anyone else see something wrong with this picture? So I guess Microsoft is back to being Microsoft again.

When weren’t they?

^this^

No one is selling the actual helmets, this was just poor marketing by Microsoft. How do I know this? Well for one, I pre-ordered from Best-Buy and recieved a helmet skin for the deadeye helmet. Now why would they give me the skin as a pre-order bonus for a helmet that is also a pre-order bonus, but at a different retailer?

The pre-order bonuses are only skins, no actual armor. On top of that, Microsoft has also stated that they will more than likely release the pre-order skins later down the road.

Seen any PAX Gameplay showing the armory?

The Armory menu has the armors in a list. For example CIO Chest and CIO (Web) Chest are 2 seperate armors. So I assume you unlock the original version normally, but these special skinned versions are semi-exclusive unlocks.

GAME in the UK offers ‘early access’ to 6 Specialisations I think too, you’ll still have to rank up to SR50, I hope.

Watch a PAX armory vid, it should clear it up a bit. Although the lack of official explanation was disappointing.

the strange thing in the PAX build that I have noticed is that locus and deadeye didn’t have skins they were just base variants however the deadeye looked the same as in the pre-order bonus while the locus had different skin shaped like a vertical stripe instead of the actual x shaped skin from mighty ape.

the recruit had a default variant and a prime skin variant except for the legs. because the recruit legs from the e3 build and the picture the LE digital content are renamed counter legs which have base, forest, and prime variants while the the recruit legs in the PAX are completely different and only have base and tiger variants.

and of course Hup2thepenguin pointed out the name of the hazops skin in the build is alloy despite looking identical to the forest skin from the pre-order.

they mention that all items may be accessable at a later date, so i don’t know the issue

> they mention that all items may be accessable at a later date, so i don’t know the issue

I get what you’re saying, but the key word there is “may”. But, that may just be a shady “yes”, sort of knowing how 343 does things, what with all of their listening to the community.

Woah I pre ordered there 2 months ago…do I still get it?

I’m pretty sure that Dead Eye is not the name of the helmet, but the skin on the helmet. That helmet name is Locus, not Dead Eye.
