so... skulls?

now i havent been here in a long time. i came back yesterday after leaving since halo 3. and i did some searches and couldnt find anything. but im wondering if skulls will make a return for campaign. i always thought they were fun to find, i didnt mind reaches skull system with them being all there up front, but a lot of the fun of them in halo 2 and 3 was the search. i remember when halo 3 came out i was very active in the search for IWHBYD. i really hope they make a return.
also its an easy thing to have achievements for.

Skulls are in, but they’re automatically unlocked. No searching. :frowning:

Skulls are back and are unlocked from the start. You can read about them in the last Halo Bulletin.

They’re all unlocked, like Mike up there said.

No worries though. They’ve said there’s a bunch of Terminals and such to find and fill the void with.

well thanks guys. appreciate the info although im slightly disappointed. but ill live. i know that ill spend a lot of time trying to find everything this game has to offer either way.

no skulls? -Yoink- sake.

> no skulls? -Yoink!- sake.

They’re in the game, just available from the start.

I’m glad they put terminals (and most likely easter eggs) into the game for us to search.

Skulls are automatically unlocked like in Reach and no, there are no new skulls like in Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary. No skull hunting in Halo 4.

This is VERY strange because Combat Evolved Anniversary had Terminals AND skulls to find. In Halo 4, it’s just the Terminals. Seems like a downgrade to me. I look forward to playing the Halo 4 Campaign but you think that 343 would want to keep players coming back and dissecting the lovely environments they crafted for us. Skull Hunting was extremely popular in Halo 3, it’s slightly disappointing they didn’t bring it back for Halo 4.

Still really bad how they aren’t keeping up with one of the communities most liked features.

i find it strange how they didnt keep up with hiding the skulls too. like i said in my OP i was very active in the IWHBYD search. and honestly in those few days the search lasted i had never seen a more united video game community.
yes, sure, easter eggs and terminals are great, but what are they? things to briefly look at, things to read?
in Halo 2 and 3 the skulls were well hidden game changers. thats the thing i liked about them. knowing that the only reason you were able to use them was because you went out of your way to search for them. knowing that not every single person found them. in halo 3 they were a sort of badge of honor. you got the hyabusa helmet for finding them all. and yes after a while everyone had it. but in the first month or so those people were few and far between.

i think its great the skull tradition is still alive in some way, but i still wish it was how it used to be.

I hate the skulls. That means Legendary won’t be as difficult as it should be.

Halo:CE and Halo 2 had the best Legendary modes. Halo 3,ODST and Reach all had “easier” legendary modes because they were designed to have the skulls turned on later.

I highly doubt that Bungie designed 3 to Reach to be played on Mythic difficulty.
