I agree with lightrifle. It is more powerful than a DMR but it’s harder to aim. So basically, only good players can benefit from this beastly weapon.

Light Rifle, for sure. That thing has practically no autoaim compared to the DMR, BR, etc.
I would say the Light Rifle takes the cake on this. It has no bullet magnetism and requires every single bullet in a burst to connect for a 5 shot kill. While the scoped setting can take someone down 0.2 sec faster than the DMR (0.4 BR/LR, 0.5 CB), try fighting flinch with the aforementioned lack of magnetism. If you can 4 SK (1+ scope shot, 3- bursts), I think that takes incredible skill…
The carbine is a close second, but its high RoF and better magnetism mean that mistakes can be corrected…
It is the BR only because it needs consistency to down shields, but the Carbine is pretty difficult to use just against another precision weapon because it’s awful.
Zero Bloom DMR was, funnily enough, the hardest Halo weapon to use out of all the games, yet that was traded for the Halo 2 level bullet magnetism DMR.

Light Rifle.It’s a harder to use weapon but in return it gives the fastest kill time. It’s also a projectile so you actually have to lead your shots.

The Lightrifle isn’t hitscan. That alone makes it the hardest to use unlike the other 3. It has the fastest kill time and 2 scoped shots w/ two hipped fire shots is extremely deadly as the final shot from the hip will bleedthrough. < Very satisfying to do. Can’t till i get Stability. The LightRifle is the closet thing we have to a CE pistol in Halo 4.
The Carbine has a fast ROF but lower aim assist and weak damage doesn’t exactly seem very attractive. It’s a hard gun to use and take skill but often you’re going to lose your battles against the other guns unless you weaken the target first.
The Battle Rifle is a personal favorite of mine (though i am starting to like the Light Rifle) since i like Burst Fire. It has recoil (upwards climb) after each shots, more aim assist, and you can “swing” the burst fire for some comeback kills. Sadly, the scope is a 2X (like the Magnum and the Carbine) and flinch just butchers this weapon (recoil+ flinch pwns you). Plus in order for the burst to do equal damage to 1 DMR bullet, all three must lbut it’s not always consistent.
The DMR takes less/no skill to use but it has none of the drawbacks of the other rifles. More aim assist, hitscan, superior scope, no recoil/bloom, and a solid ROF makes this Rifle the most used. Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT the second coming of the CE Pistol as that gun took skill to use and wasn’t hitscan. The DMR has also destroyed BTB due to it’s easy cross mapping capabilities.

Kidding, I say Carbine.
Although the BR is my personal favorite, I find that the Light Rifle requires the most amount of skill to use. Followed by the Carbine, then the BR. The DMR is the easiest to use, and it pretty much wrecked BTB… well that and plasma grenade spawns (worst idea ever).
