Last night we had a guy on our team get upset we were in party chat. So their solution? Send us all hateful messages calling us names and stuff. Then proceed to start shooting us every round and make us lose the game. So we all report him, block him and move to arena. And every match we had there our random person was team killing us and forcing us to lose. I am sick of people acting like this.

I may catch flak for this, but I think Modern Warfare 2 had it right. It forced you into game chat if you were in a party chat prior to playing team-based games. I understand the desire to avoid listening to 7 year olds talk about banging your mom, but the reality is it forced you to communicate with your teammates.

No it did not.
You could always unplug your MIC or just keep your headset off, if people don’t want to communicate they wont, plain and simple, plus it is super annoying having to leave party chat just because the game forces you too.
The solution is to turn off friendly fire like in Warzone but they won’t do that, Halo has always had this issue, oh you got the sniper first? ill betray you and take it instead.
I always mute little kids because they drive me crazy but I agree about the team killing, not fun to deal with. I try to avoid it completely by playing with a full Fireteam.

Just have your entire team file a complaint and block them.
That’s also why I love Warzone. You can not team kill other than splatters.

The issue is at least in past games (dunno on H5) betraying back would some times give the person you betrayed back the prompt to kick you out of the match.
What I do if someone betrays me is to stop caring about the game and make it my personal mission to troll them the rest of the game, lowering their shields so the enemy can 1 shot them, or blocking their shots etc etc.

Yeah we usually do too but we only had three of us last night. I knew we should have just played some MCC because that is usually what we do now if we don’t have a full team but we started getting rusty on Halo 5 because no one is ever one at once anymore.
I just let them betray me. Makes it easier for the ban hammer to find them eventually. Some people just can’t have fun unless they doing everything they can to ruin the game for everyone else.

Oh i don’t let them get killed once, I dedicate the entire match to keep their shields down so they are always 1 shot, on past games I also kept them de scoped as I constantly shot them so they either betrayed me again (prompting the kick option) or they kept getting 1 shot.
I especially loved it when I picked up the sniper from their dead bodies and when they betrayed me again I would wait for them to go all the way, pick the sniper and move to their hiding spot and before they could take a shot (booted) so much hate mail I got from that

If it was really bad I’d also do this, after they betray me once I’d purposely lower their shield so they’d want to kill me first. Since that made two betrayals I’d boot them from the game.

Actually come to think about it. Its happened a couple of times. I also did that. I think it was still in BTB. It seems to me, Maybe I’m wrong that somebody can betray you once, but twice they get the option to boot. So he betrays me, I betray him . If he does it again I boot him. I did have to do that once. I won’t do a second betrayal.

I don’t betray, i just keep their shields low so they get killed over and over again until they rage quit or betray me so I can boot them.
Also gotta say, that this something mostly unique to Halo in a bad way. You can’t shoot your team in COD or Battlefield or Gears. I think you can grenade them in BF and gears, not sure about COD.

So because this person betrayed you once, you would dedicate yourself to troll this person the entire game and let down your other team members? Logic at it’s finest. Betrayals happen, it’s very inconvenient, but you just have to move on.

Nope you cant grenade teammates on Gears or BF (I need to re check gears but I know BF you cant unless you play Hardcore)

I never said it was logical, please point me to where I state this?
If you go out of your way to betray me for a weapon, I don’t care I will troll you for the rest of the game, if it is logical or not I don’t care, I will make your game experience the most miserable.
An accidental betrayal is one thing, a betrayal just to grab a weapon because YOU want it is a different thing.

First, you should read before you post. I never said anything about you stating any logic, just pointing out that your philosophy of trolling someone is very illogical. I’m glad you will never be a teammate of mine.
