I’m loving the idea of weapons with minor variations and attachments to augment your standard weapon loadouts. I’m hating that you have to get to a ridiculous REQ level in a match before you can use them, and once you do manage to unlock them in your match, they’re not markedly better than the standard version. I’m not seeing the point of tuning things this way. The variant weapons should unlock at much lower REQ levels than they currently seem to do. For example…
I have a Recon AR with energy bayonette. I was pumped to try to unlock this weapon so I could give it a try, expecting it to be godlike because it required a massive REQ level of 8(!) to unlock. So of course I screwed myself and my team, bypassing things like Scorpion tanks and other assorted awesomness until about 1 minute before the end of the match when I was finally able to to get to 8 and open up the Recon AR. And of course, I attempt to use the weapon on the first enemy I see, which is thankfully at close range already… pump half a mag in body shots into the enemy, watch the shield go down, lunge with my melee… connect… expect a victorious kill… get shotgunned in the face for instant, fully shielded death. I waited an entire match for a weapon that’s no better than the one I already had, bypassing much more useful items in the process. It’s a massive waste of time.
These weapons need to unlock at a much lower level. I’d say standard versions of loudout weapons should all unlock from the start of a match… unlocking the battle rifle at REQ 3 and the SMG even later is silly. And variant versions should unlock at say, REQ 3.
Not sure why you bypassed things like scorpions and power weapons. It doesn’t take REQ energy to use loadout weapons. I’m not sure what I think about lowering REQ level requirements for the Recon AR with the bayonet. I’ve gone on crazy killstreaks and cleared rooms with it. It’s a loadout weapons that’s better than the energy sword and is decent at midrange.

I need to accumulate a REQ level of 8 to use the Recon AR. So that means I have to spend almost the entire match saving up energy to finally unlock the weapon for use near the end of the match. That means I can’t bring in anything else… like vehicles or weapons that might be more useful than a slightly different AR for almost the entire match.
I’m not sure how this is better than the energy sword, which is a one-hit-kill. I haven’t been able to get a one-hit-melee kill on an unshielded enemy with the bayonet. I could just punch one and get that.

You don’t have to spend REQ energy to use loadout weapons so you could have used as many power weapons and vehicles as you wanted, and it is a 1-hit melee kill with a midrange fully automatic gun, so…

I think I’ve hit REQ level 8 only a handful of times. I don’t think these weapons should have such a high requirement for COMMON cards. Typically once I reach REQ 8, there’s like 2 minutes of game left. Why would I even bother at that point? I know there are plenty of skilled players out there that rack up the REQ level quite quick, and that’s fine, but it saps the enjoyment out of it for those players who aren’t at that level and will never get to use some of those cards.
I still think the randomness of the packs is broken. I think I’m up to SR14 and I haven’t gotten a certification for the DMR. Why is that there is no variety in the packs when I level up? Needler, Mongoose, SAW. That’s all I ever get beyond a card for a random perk. I still haven’t gotten any new visor colors yet. How is that even possible???

You still have to reach a certain level of REQ energy to be able to use loadout weapons… so while it doesn’t use energy, you still have to accumulate the level. If I reach enough level to use a tank card, for example, it resets your energy to zero… or whatever is left over… thus getting to 8 to use the Recon AR wouldn’t be possible if I continued to expend energy to bring in items. And the energy bayonet can’t be a one-hit-kill because then it would kill in one hit, which I’ve never been able to do with it.
The req system and packs definitely need some tweaks

Using your energy doesn’t reset your progress to the next level. Energy and leveling don’t work together. Energy bayonet is definitely a 1-shot kill. Watch Ready Up Live’s video.

Yeah, I see what you mean now about level and energy. I suppose that’s my bad for thinking they were linked… I suppose I never paid enough attention to see that they were separate. The point stands though about the level at which you unlock it. Many matches will not let you get to level 8. And even for a winning side that DOES get there, it comes too late in the match to mean anything. It needs to be lowered. These are loadout weapons, not power weapons, after all.
My Variant Loadouts
Level 3 Requirment
Assault Rifle
Assault Rifle with Projection Sight and Stabilization Jets. Standard-issue fully-automatic rifle effective at short to medium range. Stabilization Jets help control recoil.
ITS AMAZING!
AND
Level 4 Requirement!!!
Sentinel BR
Battle Rifle with Sentinel Sight and Kinetic Bolts. Delta-Six special forces configuration with variable-zoom 4x/6x optics; optimized for long-range, pinpoint lethality. Kinetic Bolts augment knockback and damage against vehicles.
Sentinel BR with a Level 4 Req Level requirement is amazing. The Scope is super long and accurate, When i get this i rarely die and vehicle crumble before me
I find that I get rubbish items in gold packs, while in silver packs I get rares. For example, the last 5 gold packs I’ve opened, I have only had 2 rare certifications, while the last 3 silver packs gave me at least 4!
however, I find it helps to get as many silver packs as possible until you are level 30 or so, before getting gold, as it means I have less chance of getting an uncommon in a gold pack, as it wastes rp

no you should get all your bronze and silvers done before you do your golds. This will take you till around lvl 80-90 or so
All I got from this is that you don’t understand how loadout weapons work in Warzone. At all.
- They don’t cost ANY REQ energy to use. You simply need to get to the desired level to use the item. Spawning power weapons and vehicles are ah-okay to do. - The loadout weapons aren’t suppose to be game changers, they are meant to give you the edge in a certain field like range or accuracy increase - These things can be used any time once you’ve reach that level. They are not one time uses. - The energy bayonet is a one-hit melee kill like the energy sword. You died because you alerted the enemy of your position so he prepared himself.

Using the energy does not reset your balance. You can unlock level 8 reqs and still only have enough energy for a level 3. As soon as Palmer says " Level X REQs available" You can use armor mods and change your loadout weapons, even if you do not have the energy “saved” up

Maybe Bronze until level 20 (or until a bulk if not all of the commons are gone) Then push silvers until level 80 or 90 ( when you guy 2000RP back after purchase)
Who the hell necrobumped this
Spawning in a tank or something actually would help you get to level 8 quicker. Getting killd AI or player will raise your req level and req points. And it doesn’t cost points or req level to switch loadout weapons.

Did nobody read the post date? At all? Do
people just respond to the first few comments and leave it at that? Discussions can’t go anywhere if you keep restarting them.

as you said you are sr14. you aren’t supposed to have things like pheatons yet. stick to bronze. after you completed those switch to silver and then to gold.
im sr118 and im stil grinding goldpacks.
