but the main reason im posting is that I haven’t seen a post about the fact we can now
PASS the ball to players like a grenade toss.

We can pass the skull like grenades? What??? I never heard anything about that. Is there a link for this information? Did they say this at the Halo 4 Panel?

But you can toss it to a teammate as opposed to dropping it at their feet.

But you can look up about 2 degrees and throw it higher. He was up on a higher platform…

Can someone post a picture of the new oddball, I have seen the assassination video but I couldn’t get a good look at the ball.
I like the new design, but I don’t really like the idea of throwing the oddball.
Another way for players to toss the ball off the map… I still think it’s cool though.

tossing the balls to teammates? can’t wait for an interception! passing is just throwing the ball down on the ground for a teammate to pick up with style.

This is actually a very interesting feature. It make what was a much unglamorous role of holding the ball and hiding out of the action in most cases much more interesting. It reward dynamic team set ups with planned escape routes and will encourage greater map movement and teamwork. Bravo 343, I’d resigned odd ball as being a mediocre gametype only suitable for casual play, I’m actually looking forward to my first Oddball game now.
The only downsides I can see is that if ball tossing tactics are not well enough controlled through map design some OP tactics could emerge but I think 343 are up to the task. Also it could lead to people tossing the ball off the map so that the ball respawns elsewhere on the map peeing off the other team. This could be fixed by having the ball drop in an ordinance pod close to where the ball fell off and would also be pretty cool.

Being able to throw-pass the Oddball to teammates opens an entire slew of new gametypes using the mechanic.
I wonder if they’re doing anything new with bombs.
