Just started Halo infinites training and noticed a Spartan by the name of O’Brien, I know it’s not officially confirmed but can we agree that this is the same O’Brien from the Legends episode “the babysitter”… The same O’Brien that had the biggest grudge against Spartan Cal in the beginning but definitely felt some kinda way after she sacrificed herself for him. I know it’s probably just a coincidence but can we as a community make it official?
That’s one of the first things I thought about when I saw that name come across my screen. I wonder if 343i did that intentionally.
I think O’Brien from Legends has been confirmed to be the same O’Brien who dies in the additional Halo 2 cutscene “Day at the Beach”.
They were both ODSTs. I assumed they were the same.
Its believed that the O’Brien you’re talking about was killed in Halo 2.
I don’t the O’Brien from Legends was the one who died in Halo 2, at least nothing has been said that the two are one and the same. But it would be cool if he was the NPC Spartan, he’s certainly skilled enough to qualify.
I don’t believe it has not been confirmed anywhere that they are the same. Also Halopedia (the most trusted lore site by the community) has them listed as separate people still. If you have a link announcing otherwise that would be nice.
Also sorry if it seems like I’m talking down on you, but with new people joining the community due to Infinite, I have to assume some people (perhaps maybe you) are new to things, so once again I apologise if I made it seem like I’m talking down on you
I agree. The incredibly difficult shot he had to take show’s how proficient he was with a Sniper. Could definitely warrant an invitation to the Spartan-IV program, which I believe he would of happily accepted (if this is indeed the same O’Brien) due to how he was saved by Cal time and time again and how he came to respect her. Could even motivate him to exceed expectations in later battles. But that’s enough before I start rambling
