So, Now that a few(bunch) of us have played it?

What are your genuine thoughts of the game based off the one map so far. Things that aren’t just grrr sprint bad etc etc

Aim assist feels NONEXISTENT and the drop Weapon command feels unnecessary and gets in the way of me switching nades.

I’m having fun playing it on steam. Watch out for bots with needlers, they will tear up your team. Sometimes with the needler it is hard to tell if they are using before it is too late due to it sounding like a smg. I’m hoping each day we get test other game types instead of just slayer. For the first two hours I kept get errors to dedicated server, maybe played only 5 matches in those two hours. Now I’m getting instant matches after each game. It doesn’t feel like aim assist is on. Playing with xbox series controller. The open mic is annoying and I can’t figure out how to mute players because I don’t want to listen to their background noise. I have really looked into muting them much.

Can you customise drop weapon button to something else/disband it all together?

I can’t see any situation I’d realistically use it unless I’m meme-ing.

My biggest problems so far are the following:

  1. Aim assist just doesn’t exist, this is particularly egregious on console.
  2. Time to kill is obscenely low. Shields are practically redundant.
  3. Power weapons feel very weak. The shotgun often take two or more hits to get a single kill making it’s lack of range not worth using it. The Ravager is also very underpowered.
  4. XP seems to only be earned by challenges and challenges alone. Challenges were always additive, not the only source of progression.

One thing I must applaud is that the AR does not suck. It actually feels viable which I absolutely love. Gone are the days of throwing it aside, because it was too awful to use. Although this is against “marine” difficulty bots, so maybe I’m getting ahead of myself.

I think it’s really fun!
The needler reloads insanely fast and is hefty.
The Skewer is hard to aim against people.
It’s super quick to kill things.
The bulldog could be a bit more powerful.

Feels great, had the occasional bug, and crashed a few times, but that was expected. I’m excited to continue participating in the Tech-Test. Looking forward to see how this game develops through their consideration of the user’s experience.

I really like the map, it’s perfect for these sessions, high ground, underground, skirmish areas, etc. I adjusted my settings and took off the unnecessary Motion Blur, Screen shake and sprint lines, because well…they’re unnecessary. Framerate wasn’t running well at 1440 so I had to turn it down to 1080 to get a consistent 60 fps. Sound was muffled and I couldn’t hear the Bots when I would spawn into the game, versus loading up into it. Guns feel great, armor looks dope, especially the visors, and MARKING IS A GAME CHANGER!!!

Can’t wait to see this when it’s polished off and tuned…let’s go 343! This is a return to form!!!

HALO
IS
BACK

Is time to kill for the bots low or yourself? Because I imagine the bots are super easy to kill due to terrible movement and positioning.

The ttk looks fairly fast from the pro gameplay we got a taste of, but not obscene or anything.

Players and bots have the same shields/ health. Everything dies too fast.
