Long story short, I posted asking if anyone wants to help get the castle achievements but I didn’t know you couldn’t use extra controllers for this. So I got an Xp ban, moderator message and a whole heap of grief.
I dont see the problem as it was only for the achievements and tbh in matchmaking you often get people from your own team trying to melee you and then heal you which mostly results in the enemy team killing you in the process.
My ignorance is no excuse but I feel this is a tad bit overzealous no?

People like you ruin good fun, stats, and hard-to-get achievements by boosting. Your Live account should’ve been banned like in Reach. Never do that again. You ruin the game by doing that just like the people who ruined the true skill ranking system back in Halo 2 and 3.
Entire lobby was full…12 people. We made sure no one from matchmaking could come in because yeah…that would just be unfair.
Lesson learned but some of the achievements I would argue actually hamper normal matchmaking and seem suited to a private (albeit achievement attainable) party.
And actually it was the best fun I’ve had in a long time, speaking to random people, laughing out loud, discussing all things Halo reminded me and all the other people why we fell in love with Halo in the first place.
Yes as I’ve just said…Lesson learned, thank you for underlining it though.
Taking something too seriously I would argue ruins the fun no?
In all honesty I hardly think one game where its just the achievements your after and not getting even one extra kill is messing up the stats.
Will never do it again (and didn’t for the other map packs or original achievements for that matter but my Latina girlfriend seems less and less content with me playing these days)
I think it may be just using controllers with no one operating them. I won’t be doing either from now on and I am frankly scared to even go into a custom game.
I mean these people that I played with are now really close friends on Xbl and we had hours of fun with custom race games and general messing about.

Yeah it must be fun ruining a game for other people. Don’t you hate it when game developers make a game that requires you to actually give it your best effort? It would be so much more fun to have a row of people lined up for you to kill. (Sarcasm)

You’re not a cheater, you’re you. The guy that wants to get something now, instead of waiting months to get it. A guy that shouldn’t care about what others think of you. It’s a game, games are for entertainment. See that Xbox 360 system you got there? You bought it, so enjoy it to the fullest. Don’t let anyone else like these achievement nerds put a limit to your fun.

I never heard of anybody’s XBL account getting perma-banned by Bungie/343 for boosting achievements in in Halo Reach. Hell, Bungie even said it was allowed as long as it was full party and people played the rest of the match properly once they got the achievements.
Look I play as much matchmaking as the next guy (or chick) and I hate the idea of ruining a game for someone else, which is why we were in a match with 12 people as part of a party.
Look lowest form of wit aside I have learned my lesson and sorry if anyone feels that all stats worldwide now have to be reset.
And didn’t mean to label my girlfriend, to correct myself she is Portuguese…and by god if you knew her you would understand.

From what I can tell, he signed in Guests to have a full lobby, so he wasn’t actually ruining it for anyone. I guess the Guests were AFK, though, so he got banned.

No just your stats. And what do you mean by if you knew her you would understand?

Though I may have worded it poorly, I meant that just like the boosters in Halo 2 and 3 they make the 50 (or in this case stats) mean less now that anybody can get good stats by boosting. The reason why they let more than one person or team in a game is so that if you have a lot of people who want to play in Matchmaking you can do that. It’s not there so that you can boost.
No I posted on waypoint if anyone would like to join a private game, when we had like 10 unique players I decided to sign in 2 extra controllers. So really if we had waited for 2 more players then this would not have been a problem?
I kinda wonder if the other people in the game knew now…
