So no one cares about lack of customization?

from what I heard in the beta you choose your helmet, body and visor. I know it was just a beta but it seems like no ones worried about the possibility of us having very little armor customization.

oh and 343 for Christ sakes add elites to multiplayer

I don’t care for customization. I want to have a good gameplay, screw cosmetics. If they have both then its a bonus. Still main prio is the gameplay.

No one cares about a customization we have not seen lol how could be care for something we know little about? It was a beta not an armoury preview slow down young padwan. All in due time.

I will be sad that elite are still not playable though.

Gameplay is definitely more important. No one is denying that! But customization HELPS keep people engaged. “oh if I can win just two more match and unlock that new armor set!”
also I would like to see special armor pieces unlocked at certain levels of rank. I just think it would help casual players stay more motivated to rank up.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. To me, it feels like 343 went out of their way to make sure we knew that it was canon for the Arbiter’s Elites to train with the Spartans. And we all know how much 343 likes their lore. My money is on either excluding them from the arena playlists but having them everywhere else, or just having them everywhere.

Guys the people working on gameplay are different people than the people that work on the armour. It is dumb to say that the armour customization should be put behind gameplay. Whoever is working on customization should have it as their main focus, and whoever works on gameplay should have it as their main focus. I agree with Wrath 67 though, I’m hoping it is even better than reach’s. Why shouldn’t it be?

I kinda see what your saying but there are WAY more employees working on game play than armour customization. So there are way more resources being spent on game play, as it should be! So in a since armour SHOULD be behind gameplay. But I still stand by my previous statement that armour should have some depth to it. More than H4 anyway.

I’m sure it will have more but I’m not bothered if it doesn’t.

Halo 2 had only color and emblem customization and it had arguably the best multiplayer experience in the franchise.

It was the beta so theres a huge possibility they will make more armor customation.

My money is on them being DLC.
Literally.

Slow your roll, Pat Benatar. We don’t know anything about customization so just wait and see.

Exactly! You can’t look at a beta a year before the game comes out and assume you know anything about something as minuscule as armor customization. They stated several times that they were focusing on game play, so if you want any indication of what to expect you should probably just look at Halo 4.

Beta armor never amounts to the the full game armor. As others have said, their focus is on gameplay rather than minuscule aesthetics.

Halo 3 beta = full customization
reach beta = full customization

H3 beta and HR betas = made by a completely different company.

Plus you’re wrong. They did not offer full armor customization. So there’s that.

It’s not that no one cares, its just that Josh Holmes already stated that the customization will be significantly expanded in the full game, so… case closed.

Also, I don’t care about elites, it’d be cool sure, but there are way bigger issues for them to get right first.

Those betas didn’t have full customization in the slightest, Halo 3 had limited customization in the first place, but I can’t recall the beta having ANY customization, if anything it was just 2 additional sets. Whereas in Reach you had a few choices each of Helmet, Left/Right Shoulder, and Chest. The final game had many more pieces to choose from for many more body parts. I don’t know where you are getting your information.

I care about game play. Armor customization is not why I play Halo.

Didn’t a 343 employee say that helmets, armour and visor were the only options the same as the beta? I think the reasoning they gave was that they could better focus on make good looking sets without having to take into consideration what sort of combos people were going to make
